"Quiet" resorts

A few years ago we met my DW's brother and his family at POFQ, I guess he'd be my DBIL (Disney Brother in Law). Anyway, they requested to stay in the "quiet zone". They selected them a room in the rear of the resort, far from the pool, far from the bus stop. Guess it worked, they didn't complain about noise. Our room was near the pool, bus stop, dining hall. We sleep like wood so it didn't matter to us.

WL, in particular the Villas. Nestled among the trees with majestic theming, inspirational music, Artist Point, and Hidden Springs pool--they combine to make life quieter and more relaxing. We love it there.

I'm surprised a few of you have mentioned the Poly as a quiet resort! When we went there to eat, I thought the whole place was bustling with excitement.

Could just be the time of day we went there, though.

I think if you just visit a resort to dine there, all of them seem bustling....at least to me. That includes AKL.

I find all the resorts we've stayed at to be quiet in the hallways or outer buidings and bustling in the lobbies at least in the late afternoon and early evening.

I just booked our third trip this year with them. I have stayed there a couple times and it is always quiet.

How come anyone hasn't mentioned the All-Star resorts during the cheerleader weeks? :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, I booked w/POFQ in September as many with this board and others mentioned it's quietness and slow pace.

I've found the Swan to be pretty quiet, even in the summer (August). I've never had a bad experience at the Swan - noise, or otherwise to tell you the truth.... :)

Poly quiet?! No way! Lots of hustle and bustle... and I love it!! Some few activities happening at the lobby... lobby on the 2nd floor is a mob! Both stores are busy. The pool are full of families having fun! I love it!! I love being in the middle of action! But when it comes to night time, I like it quiet.

The consensus seems to be anything but the value resorts.

I'll go with the Swan. More business and adult oriented. We're assuming quite means less kids, convention guests can also be loud.

We found Port Orleans Riverside to be very quiet. We rarely saw any other guests while we were there. We were in the Oak Manor section.

Grand Floridian and Port Orleans Riverside!! I didn't think AKL was quiet....

A non-prefered room at CBR is very quiet (gets you away from Old Port Royale). Also, Boardwalk seems to be quite calming and quiet.

We have stayed at POR twice and not only is it quiet, we never heard a peep from those in rooms around us, but it's atmosphere is very serene. The laid back Tom Sawyer-ish charm is a refreshing change from the hurried pace of the parks. The quiet pool near our room had kids it in sometimes during the day but it was pretty quiet anyway.
We took a Wishes Cruise from the WL and it appeared to be pretty peaceful as well. In fact, when I went in through a back door to the main bldg looking for the bathrooms, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone and in the resort all by myself, it was THAT quiet.
