This is going to sound really dumb, but since I've never been to a DVC resort, what exactly is a quiet pool? It sounds like this may mean no kids, but I know a lot of noisy adults too (especially with a couple of drinks in them). I'm not really sure and I see it talked about all the time, so I was just really curious what makes it a quiet pool?

Quiet pools do not have slides or food/bar stands. They are usually smaller pools.

As RLevy29 mentioned, "quiet" pools do not have slides or lifeguards. They are also called "neighborhood" pools at some resorts. (At OKW there are 3 of these pools located near groupings of buildings near the bus stops.)

Some may have a snack bar- there is a snack bar at the Old Turtle Pond neighborhood pool at OKW, but most do not have anything except a vending machine nearby.

Each one also has a hot tub.

Enjoy!

One time at VWL there was not many people at the main pool with the slide. it was real quiet, but over at the "quiet pool" there were about 8-10 kids playing MARCO,,,,,,POLO!!!! I thought it was funny because it seemed like they would have more room at the big pool. Kids can also play that game where you knock each other off of somebody shoulders in the quite pool. (its because there is no lifegaurd to stop them) My home resort does not have a quiet pool, so I do not know what the rules are. I am only passing an observation of my Quiet pool experience.

Right--quiet pool by no means really means QUIET!!! When the main pool closes at BCV--for example---everyone piles over to the quiet pool for some late-night fun!!! Maybe they should make adult-only pools---they would be quiet!!! LOL!!!

A quiet pool at DVC is like a "regular" pools at a hotel!! I hope that didn't sound too snobby!!! They are actually quite large. But we did enjoy the BCV quiet pool after SAB closed!! My niece and I went down with a glass of wine and vegged in the pool and hottub, it was wonderful. The quiet pools are very nice for relaxing.
