Quiet places to rest

I am posting this thread to get ideas on where to go within the parks to try and get a younger child to nap. Sometimes it would be much more convenient to try to get them to rest while still in the park instead of going back to your room, like when you have a priority seating coming up in an hour. Start with MK.
I was plannig to try the Main Street Theater, but I found out it wasn't there anymore. I'm talking about a 7 year old DD who will still fall asleep in my DH's lap.

Any ideas?

TTA, Hall of Presidents, the railroad, the small theater next to Casey's, the Liberty Bell.

You can always rent a stroller and let her sleep there.

We always take our kids back to the room at the Swan to nap, but World Showcase buildings and cafes might work, especially the big building in America. You might also try the baby centers in each of the parks.

Let's see, in MGM if you walk towards ToT and keep going around the bend, there are some benches that get some shade. It was a quiet spot last time we were there - people only go that way to get on the ride, not to sit!

In Epcot we once wandered around to England and went behind... I don't know what we went behind! Let me think... there's a pathway and some flowers... I think there is a restroom back there. Anyway - it was a very quiet spot back in England.

In MK there was a quiet spot somewhere around Space MTN.

Reading that back to myself I have discovered that I am not that helpful! Just come with me on my next trip and I'll point them out to you!

In MK go to the Kodak exhibit building just to the right of the Main Street railroad station (next to Tony's). Air conditioned, peaceful place to watch the older classic Disney cartoons.

If you're at MK, I'd take the boat over to FW. It's very quiet. You can visit the little petting zoo/farm. Take a couple of towels from your room and find a nice shady tree for a rest. Try lunch at Trails End, too.

How about a trip on the tomorrowland transit authority. If its not crowded, they will let you stay on if you ask.

There is a walking path from toontown to space mountain that never has anyone on it. I bet there are benches back there.

You could take him over to Tom Sawyers Island and find a place there to sit.

There is a place, that if you are walking up main street, standing infront of the Walt & Mickey statue, thats off to the left, but down near the water. Its a covered pavillion with benches. Ive never gone down there, but Ive occasionally seen a few people sitting back there.

Oh, and if you pick the right time, Belle's enchanted forest is shady, and quiet ( when shes not telling her story!!) Just take the walkway to the right of the castle, and head back that way towards fantasyland and the indy cars. Belles Garden is back there tucked out of the way on the left.

On our last trip, my DD (4) took a short nap in my lap at both the Hall of Presidents and the Carousel of Progress. Not too loud, dark, air conditioned . . . good place for a "grown-up" nap, too!

Oooo. I could be learning a new place!
I thought the theater next to Casey's had a lot of loud piano playing. Is there a quiet theater there now?

I heard that they would let you stay on the TTA with a sleeping child if it is not busy. How about the Hall of Presidents? Have you heard they will let you stay in there, too?

I know it looks like it took a long time to respond to your ideas everyone, but we're just waking up in this part of the world.

What I was specifically trying to do is this. We will be going to the MVMCP and have dinner PS at LTT at 4:00 and there's a parade at 3:00. This is also the day after we have arrived after a loooong flight. So, in order for DD to enjoy the later hours, she will need a nap. Getting back into the park to LTT during the parade would a tough trick at best. So, we are looking for something away from the hubbub.

We were thinking that if we could just stay in the Hall of Presidents, it would be perfect.

Places that worked for my son were the Tomorrowland Transit Authority at MK, Ellen's Energy Adventure at Epcot, The Great Movie Ride at MGM, and any of the Jungle Trek's at AK. Once he got tired and we got him in a stroller any dark and/or quiet ride or area of the park seemed to do the trick. This actually worked better for us than trying to get back to resort to nap (although he did usually fall asleep in the car on the way back to the resort, but then wanted to play at the ASMo playground as soon as we got him out of the car and he woke up).

The theater which you called the Main Street Theater is indeed now a merchandise space. But the kodak building that I talked about is very, very quiet. A store at the front, cut outs to take pictures and a movie theater at the back. This and parts of Tom Sawyers Island are the quietest places at MK.

One of my favorite places to rest is to sit in the rocking chairs on the porch of the store right before the Haunted Mansion. I think there are other rocking chairs all over Liberty Sq.

Also , Tom Sawyer Island is a great place to kick back. We're just two adults, but when we get tired and a need a quiet break, we head to the island, sit in the chairs and have a snack, maybe play a game of checkers.
