Hi. After seeing the dinner skillet at WCC I just had to eat there. We'll be coming from Poly, what is the best way to get to the WL? Does the boat from MK go to WL, i know it goes to GF and Poly.

Also, we have a late dinner, what if we get done at 10:30 and say MK closes at 10pm, would we still be able to get to MK to transfer back to Poly or will we need a cab? Are cabs readily available or will i have to call a cab company? I see on the map that WL is next to Poly, can we walk?

Thank you!

WHEN will Disney post Jan. park hours, ahhhhh!

You can't walk from Poly to WL.

Cabs are normally available outside the entrance to all the resorts. If you don't see one, just ask bell services to call one for you.

As for the boats, I can never keep track of what Disney is doing with the boats. Last I knew, the best way to get from the Poly to the WL was take the monorail (or boat, but I'd pick monorail depending on where your Poly room is) to the MK, and then get the WL boat from there. There is a direct boat from WL to MK and back now.

Others may know better if the Poly boat stops at WL - I'm not sure. There is a resort boat from WL, but I don't know if it goes to the Poly or not. I know it goes to the Contemporary, and since it's called the "resort" launch, I would think it goes to the Poly too, but just not sure.

The Poly boat does not stop at the WL. The Poly boat is actually a small launch and just stops at the GF and MK.

There is also a small boat that goes from WL to the Contemporary which of course is connected to the Poly via Monorail. The problem with that route is that the Contemporary boat dock is a long hike from the monorail station, so I wouldn't go that way.

I'd personally do what Vicki says--monorail to MK, boat to WL, and then if possible reverse the steps on the way back.

I also agree that the Monorail to MK and boat from MK to WL is the best way to go. We did it that way when going from WL to Poly for breakfast.

I agree about taking the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, however isn't there also a bus which goes to the Wilderness Lodge? If so wouldn't that be faster then the boat?

We just caught a taxi from the WL to the Polynesian for a dinner at Kona. It was about $8.00 last August. Really quick and really convenient compared to the alternatives. It beat navigating a bus to the MK and then a boat or monorail.

On the way back when we were relaxed and well-fed, we took the monorail and got off at the MK.

Enjoy!

I would HIGHLY recommend taking a cab. Although I think Disney transportation is very good in general, resort-to-resort is not adequately covered...Being stressed out and rushed for a meal is NOT fun and is NOT the way to spend your vacation. In Disney World, time is money and $7-$10 on a cab, with door to door service, really is worth it :thumbsup2

That is correct - there is a direct bus from WL to MK. I enjoy the boat ride better, though, even if it does take longer. We never waited more than 5 mins for a launch from WL to MK or back in June -- NOT at park closing however, that's always a different story! :)

I recall one night getting out of dinner at WCC really late and getting back to the Poly was a nightmare. We ended up literally begging one of the buses to drop us off on their route to somewhere else. Not a good position to be in that late at night, the other people on the bus did not appreciate us intruders. In other words, the $8 cab ride is a small price to pay!

Take the monorail from the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom and hop on the boat from the MAgic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks - very helpful! No wonder I can't keep the boat situation straight!

I'd bookmark it but I'm afraid they might change it again before my next trip! LOL! :lmao:
