During one of our days "off" we would like to rent a canoe at Fort Wilderness but this trip we will be using WDW transportation. Does anyone know the easiest or quickest way to FW? WE are staying at POFQ. TIA! Julie

Boat to DTD then bus to ft wilderness. I assume that's an option- otherwise bus to MK then boat/bus to ft wilderness.

Or take a cab. On our last trip we needed to get from CSR to ASMo and took the bus. BIG mistake for us. We hopped a bus from crs to dt disney, then got off and had to take another bus to asmo. It took FOREVER. Be forwarned that the dt disney buses stop at the waterparks also. That experience really messed up our day. You might have better luck with the fact that you have the boat as an option. Hope you don't get stuck with a 2 hour ordeal like we did.

Or take bus to MK, then boat to FW. Lots of options! We often wait at the bus and take first thing to come, just because we like the transportation. Could also take any of the buses to the parks, then bus to FW, but think the fastest would be MK, then boat, as it will land you right at the boat rental dock, and you won't need to take the 2nd bus loop at FW.

We took a bus to MK then the boat to FW, or you could hop on a bus to FW. The kids liked the boat ride.:yay:

we do this all the time. we consider the boat rides an attraction in themselves. if you go to HDDR this is also the best way as the boat dock is within 100 yards or so of pioneer hall.

Or you can take the bus to AK then bus to Epcot then Monrail to TTC then boat to MK then walk to CR then boat to FW. :lmao:

OR you can take a cab. It's only a short distance to FW. I'd guess probably $10. Then you have to take internal transprotation back to the Settlement

what ever bus comes first - just take it and then transfer to the FW buses.

too bad you don't have a car - it is a quick trip in car - about 3 minutes.

Actually since they are wanting to rent canoes they need to take the oranage bus to the Meadows Area.
And yes the bus to MK then boat to FW(there is no FW/MK bus) is fastest generally, but Disney transportation can be a attraction unto itself if you want to, I can absolutly see my family taking your route, just for fun.:goodvibes

But even then you'll still need to take an internal bus once you get to Fort Wilderness, as you can't park anywhere near to anything.

I'd go with the bus to MK and then boat to FW advice. Enjoy the journey anyway - I'll be doing it myself in a couple of months too, to get to the Trail's End restaurant.

[Oh, and remember that you can rent water craft at Port Orleans too - although going round the lake from FW does sound really fun]
