Quickest Way Epcot to Contemporary

What's the quickest way to get from Epcot to Contemporary? We're spending arrival day at Epcot with 6:15 ADR at Chef Mickey's. I know we can take the monorail, but with the transfer at TTC, I'm afraid it could take a while. I've heard about taking the bus to FW cabins, then the boat or walking to Beach Club and taking the bus to MK.

Has anyone tried anything other than the monorail? We've also got two youngish kids who's legs may be getting tired by then...

I think the monorail is the fastest way. The only other option would be to take a bus from one of the Epcot resorts to MK and take the monorail from there to the Contemporary, but I think the monorail from Epcot to TTC to the Contemporary is easiest.

I would do the monorail then transfer at the TTC. All the major walking you'll have to do will be to get to the monorail and then switch monorails. You'll enjoy being dropped off right inside the Contemporary if you're tired of walking.

Take the Monorail from Epcot to the TTC, then from there take the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary. Also it will stop at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom before it arrives at the Contemporary, so that's something you should remember.

This one's probably going to be a judgment call, IMO, and I'd base my choice as much on my preferred mode of travel as on the timing question.

If you're at the front of the park or closer to the main gate than to the IG, then I would just take the monorail to the TTC and then switch to the resort monorail there. The monorail stop is closer to the entrance than the bus stops and the only way I can see that taking a bus to a resort would be faster is if you happened to jump right on and the park and then catch an MK bus with no waiting at the resort. Even then, the time savings would seem to be minimal.

If you're back by the IG or closer to it than to the main gate, exiting there and going to the BC to catch a bus might be quicker. Keep in mind that the BC frequently shares bus service with one or more of the other Epcot resorts, so you may not go directly from there to the MK.

In this case, your walk from the bus stops at MK to the monorail might be the same distance as walking from the bus to the Contemporary.

I think monorails would be the best way to go, with less walking.

How about a taxi? There are certain times I'm willing to spend a few bucks and simply take a taxi. You can sit and relax during the ride plus it will drop you off right in front of the door at the Contemporary.

You can always spring for a taxi. Finding one with one carseat is easy, if you need two carseats though you may be out of luck. Aska CM where to go to grab a taxi, if you like. (Obviously, if you have a car, that would be a good time to use it.)

From CR, Disney folks tell guests to take the two monorails to get to Epcot. If you are near the back gate of Epcot you could try taking the BC or Bwk bus, but it will take a good ten minutes to walk to BC from Epcot, and then another solid ten minutes to walk from the MK bus stop up to the restaurant.

Coming from CR - you only need to go one stop on the monorail. Going the reverse, CR is the fourth stop, so it takes quite a bit longer.

You could also take the first monorail to the TTC, then grab a taxi at the TTC- that would be a short, direct ride. probably slightly faster thanthe monorail, but not more than 15 minutes less.Probably only costs a few $ though.

You could take a bus from Epcot to WL and then take the boat to CR (or the bus from WL to MK) but I don't think it would be much faster. Geting the WL to MK bus is pretty easy, but then you'd still have to walk. At least the monorail drops you off right inside CR. The Wl to CR boat first stops at Ft. Wilderness and then drops you off on the back dock of CR. It is a pretty ride, but probably not a whole lot faster than the other way.

Part of the answer depends on timing. Buses can be 25 minutes apart.Usualy monorails run about every 15 minutes or so. By me experience, resort monorails run about every five minutes unless you hit it during a shift change.

There really is no route more direct than the monorail. Taking a bus to the cabins or the Lodge and then waiting for a boat is likely to take a lot longer than the monorail, because neither the bus nor the boats run as often as the monorails. Even with the change at TTC I don't think I'd chance it waiting for a bus.
