Just taking the bus OR taking the ferry to the CR and then the monorail to the TTC? If it's all the same, the second route sound more aesthetically pleasing. :)

If I remember correctly, the bus was quicker, even though I would have thought the monorail would be. The bus is more direct. You have to take some transport to MK or CR for the monorail and also switch trains at the TTC. But if you're not in too much of a hurry, it is a nice ride. For us, though, it got tedious doing the switching with a stroller and 2 kids. So that may be a consideration, too.

I'd go the boat/monorail route if you want the experience. But direct bus is about 34 or so minutes not counting wait time. Boat to Contemporary is 21 or so minutes then Contemporary to TTC is i think 30 minutes. (Someone feel free to correct me on that time wait) This does not include waits for transfers or walking from boat dock to concourse.
That being said you can take a bus anywhere. Why not do something different and enjoy your trip- go the boat/monorail route.

Your times are a "little" off.;):)

Once on the bus at WL,travel time to the Epcot Bus Depot is approximately 10minutes.:)

Once on the Boat, travel time to CR is approximately 5 minutes.:)

Once on the Monorail at CR,travel time to TTC is 2 minutes.:)

The bus will be faster, but the boat/Monorail route is FUN!:)

Thanks for correcting the times, I was getting a little alarmed!

Just got back yesterday and have some updates on he times above -
Bus from WL to EPCOT goes to FW 1st (return trip is direct to WL). Timed it three times and average trip from boarding to drop off was 22 minutes.

The boat also goes to FW before CR and that trip is about 15 minutes.

Those shorter trip times are returns to WL not departures from WL.

Sorry I opened and copied out of my book using the worst case scenario without realizing it. I always time budget worst case and lie to my husband about what time we need to be someplace. ie 5pm adr is always 345-415. he is chronically late.

And the caveat is: This is my first trip as an adult and I'm 40 :) As a child you just show up and everything is beautiful in the world and the magic just happens.

the boat changes based on time of day.

did not know about Epcot - it use to go FW first - then to WL then directly to Epcot.

sounds like they changed it. Of course that might be better - after the park closed it was hard to stay awake to get back to WL/VWL then making all those stops in FW.

We just took the bus much easier than going on the boat and then monorail. We didnt wait too long for the bus luckily and were the only people on it.

So, if you are in a hurry, take da bus.
If you want to relax and enjoy Disney, take da boat.
You would be finding my butt on da boat :thumbsup2

Thanks, all! :worship: With this great information in mind, I'll see how the mood strikes me at the time.

Just so you know, the boat goes WL to Cont to Ft. W in the morning and switches direction to Cont to WL to Ft W in the afternoon.

I usually take the bus to Epcot in the morning. Take the monorail from Epcot to Contemporary in the evening. Many times we have had the boat to ourselves in the evening. So nice!!!
