I would love to refinance my mortgage. I do not like the bank that currently holds my mortgage, so I would rather not refinance there. The bank I use for checking/savings is holding on by a thread. I expect them to be bought out any day now and I have no idea who my mortgage will end up with if I refinance with them.

I see the add for Quicken loans and they seem to get good reviews. Does anyone have personal experience with them for mortgage loans?

We checked with them once but they couldn't come close to a local credit union.

I work in the industry. I close some loans for them and they are actually GMAC loans. Loan process is relatively simple and fees are reasonable.

Personally, however, I want to be able to look my loan officer eyeball to eyeball with any questions or concerns. Not sure of your location, but check with all your local banks first and shop around by phone first comparing rates and fees. Almost every bank had a mortgage division- whether they service or sell their loans. Good luck

We used them back in January to refi our home. Had no problems at all. Very good at communicating with us through the whole process.

We used them about a year ago to refinance and have been happy. They had someone come out to our house to sign all the final paper work, in addition to sending us a copy about a week in advance to read over.

We used them to do a refi a couple of months ago. I was a little wary of the $400 upfront fee, but we got it applied at closing. Very simple. A lawyer came to our house to sign papers.

Yes, I recommend Quicken for a refi. I refi-ed (?) probably three years ago now. I did some research first, and found that I could get a deal of some sort (sorry forgot what, exactly)w/ them through a membership of ours. I did talk to my then-bank (B of A) and got a ridiculous rate, w/ lousy fees, and also talked to USAA, not so happy w/ that offer either, even though we haven been members forever. Quicken gave me a great rate, no fees, they even paid for a new property survey for me! I had a pool built a few years before, so the survey that came w/ our house was no longer valid. So they said I had to get a new survey, and they reimbursed me for it, which was over $350. Everybody I spoke w/ during the process was very professional. The process didn't take very long at all. I was also able to get my mortgage payment on auto pay, so it's pretty brainless now. Love it! I was able to roll my home equity loan in w/ my mortgage. My home mortgage was only five years old, but now they have something called a "yourgage" or something, so if you want to get a 25 year mortgage, they can do that instead of starting over at 30 years.

Prior to this, we got a home equity loan, to build the pool, w/ Pentagon Fed Credit union. That process was horrific! It literally took the entire summer to close that loan; applied the Friday before Memorial Day, and it closed a few days before Labor Day.

If you want any more info, feel free to DM me. I can look up the guy I dealt w/, he was great. I am saving $5k a year w/ my refi, so I'm happy!

We just used Quicken Loans to Refi with a HARP loan this summer. The process was easy and they were willing to close the loan at my home on a Saturday, which is great because my DH works very long days and could only close on a weekend.

They did end up transferring the loan to Seterus. The same company I had before which I do not like because their website is a nightmare. They make you change your password every other month.

We used them for a HARP refi just last month. It was really easy; I think the whole process from start to finish just took about 3-4 weeks. They were nice to deal with over the phone and sent someone to our house for the closing docs.

I would definitely recommend!

We have 2 home loans with them. Super easy to deal with and they keep you informed every step of the way. Almost to the point of getting annoying. Would highly recommend them.
