Yes, I recommend Quicken for a refi. I refi-ed (?) probably three years ago now. I did some research first, and found that I could get a deal of some sort (sorry forgot what, exactly)w/ them through a membership of ours. I did talk to my then-bank (B of A) and got a ridiculous rate, w/ lousy fees, and also talked to USAA, not so happy w/ that offer either, even though we haven been members forever. Quicken gave me a great rate, no fees, they even paid for a new property survey for me! I had a pool built a few years before, so the survey that came w/ our house was no longer valid. So they said I had to get a new survey, and they reimbursed me for it, which was over $350. Everybody I spoke w/ during the process was very professional. The process didn't take very long at all. I was also able to get my mortgage payment on auto pay, so it's pretty brainless now. Love it! I was able to roll my home equity loan in w/ my mortgage. My home mortgage was only five years old, but now they have something called a "yourgage" or something, so if you want to get a 25 year mortgage, they can do that instead of starting over at 30 years.
Prior to this, we got a home equity loan, to build the pool, w/ Pentagon Fed Credit union. That process was horrific! It literally took the entire summer to close that loan; applied the Friday before Memorial Day, and it closed a few days before Labor Day.
If you want any more info, feel free to DM me. I can look up the guy I dealt w/, he was great. I am saving $5k a year w/ my refi, so I'm happy!
