hi all
we were planning on getting married in wdw in october next year but we may be able to bring it forward a bit to august :cheer2: and i am wondering what would the best time of day be? i am a little worried about that time of year because of the rain  if any of you have been married at that time of year how did you get on? i should tell you we are planing on being married at the yatch club gazzebo :teeth:

thanks eve ::MinnieMo

I dont really know about weather that time of year but i know that the times you can have your ceremony at the yacht club are on the odd hour, so 11am, 1pm 3pm etc.

I think the morning would be best before it gets too hot, or prehaps you could do an evening wedding. It does have lights on it!

We just had a trip to WDW in August and I would say that between 12 and 3 every day there would be a shower! Of course, afterwards it would very humid and nasty! I would go with a morning wedding, especially since rain would effect your wedding! Look at an almanac! :) Good Luck!

thank you both for your replies i was kinda thinking that the morning would be better but then an evening wedding sounds nice and romantic as well :lovestruc it's so hard to make a decision :rolleyes1

thanks eve

For me an evening would be better because I'm not a morning person. For my 2:00 p.m. wedding the hair and makeup ladies arrived at 8 AM!! So keep that in mind...the showers pretty much do hit between 12 and 3...for my September 1st wedding I was lucky that it only rained for like 20 minutes from 11:45-12:15! I think the evenings would be gorgeous and you could take afternoon pics and sunset pics (barring any rain of course) outside too!

We were married in late September (so just a bit later...but I don't think there would be much difference in the weather).

I would STRONGLY suggest a morning time (I think you can do 9am as well) because the later in the day, the more HOT AND HUMID it's going to be! I didn't wear a big ol' gown for my wedding, just a gauzy sun dress thing, and I was sweating A LOT because it was SOOOO humid!

The latest you could have your ceremony would be 3pm (unless you were going the custom route) and it's still just too darn hot! ;)

thanks again for your replies it's so hard making a decsion  at first we were going to get married in october but i just don't want to wait that long (it seems such a lifetime away)so that is why we were thinking august but then we have to put up with the rain :sad2: decisions, decisions :rolleyes1

thanks again for your comments
eve :)

If it were me, I would avoid an outdoor wedding in August. In addition to the almost daily rain at that time of year, it is very hot & humid in August. It's bad enough in shorts, but in a wedding gown, you will probably feel miserable all through the ceremony. If the wedding was in air conditioning, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. October is only another 2 months. I know the wait seems endless, but both you & your guests may be glad in the long run if you wait the extra 2 months. Also, keep in mind how severe the hurricane season has been in Florida the last couple of years. Although October is still technically in hurricane season, it's near the end & you might have a better chance of missing a major storm.
Just my opinion

I would second this for the same reasons and a few more...first, October is totally off peak and a perfect time to ENJOY disney. Second, it is the food and beverage month in epcot where you can eat/drink around the world, which is just fun for your guests and you! third, two months MAY seem like a lifetime but we will all promise you that the time will fly. fourth, the weather will be much much more bearable...I almost melted literally on September 1. Lastly...the best time of our honeymoon was after September 3rd...AFTER all the crowds left we were given much more individualized and special attention--well worth it in my opinion:):)

Awww Eve how sweet that you want to bring it forward, I can only imagine how excited you must be.

August is VERY hot in Orlando, I don't know this for sure because I've never been at that time of year, but the reason for that is because I'm almost scared of the heat LOL.

We had our wedding at 11am (make-up and hair started at 7am) at The Yacht Club Gazebo in May and it was already then 80 degrees and all the men wore jackets!! So I can only imagine what it would be like in August and if I had to do it in August on all that I've read I'd have to say go with the morning or evening (so romantic there in the evening).

But like some of the others have said if you can hold on until October then do so, it's so much cooler and less chance of rain in the afternoon should you choose to get married at that time of day.

Good luck with your decision making :)

thanks sam :)
i was actually showing your wedding pictures to my partner the other day and he just sat there in amazment (sp) he said to me after seeing them that he was looking forward to ours now :woohoo: altought ours won't be as big it's just the 2 of us and our 2 boys who will be 15 and 11 at that time :) after readoing alot on here i am starting to think that october will actually work out best for us, i really don't like the rain at the best of times so i think i had better stay away from that time of year
thanks again sam :)

Eve - stick it out and wait until October - it will come round quick enough - I can't believe mine is over already!

hi rosie
i have been going through your trip report and your pictures are wonderfull :) i loved your mk shoots aswell :) i'll more than likely stick with october i was just being a little silly trying to rush it as it seems ages since we were last at disney and i just need to go back

i too would either stick with october, or do morning or evening in august. i have been before in august, and there were really strong thunderstorms most afternoons! Some days, it got so bad that they actually closed stormalong bay down.

thanks cinderella
i am going to wait untill october as others have said it's only another 2 months and i might miss any rain or storms :)
