Okay, I'm not sure this is the right forum, but as a fellow DVC'er I thought I would start with you all!! :) My sister in-law is making her first trip to the world this summer with her husband and 10 year old son... And she was asking me which of the two water parks is "best"... I know this is a very opinionated question, but hey I haven't been to either of the water parks yet... We just never seem to have enough time to get to the water parks! :) So if you have a sec to give your opinion I know she would greatly appreciate your help...

Thanks for looking,
Mark

We would choose TL, due to the sharks

I choose TL for three reasons: 1. New Crush 'n Gusher 2. DD7 has been to BB, but not TL 3. Like the tropical feel to TL, as opposed to the cold, snowy feeling at BB (like what I've experienced at home for the past 4 months!)

The only thing I liked at TL was the lazy river. I thought all the slides were pretty bad. In fact, on the tubes slides, I thought I was going to fall off because whenever my tube hit the flowing water it would stop and then start again. It was sary, not in a fun way.

Hopefully crush-n-gusher are better than those slides.

I really like the slides at Blizzard Beach. Much better, felt safer.

Can't vote~~~haven't been yet. But we're really thinking about going to BB this summer. Hope to see more voting results and info on why you veterans pick one waterpark over the other. Keep the votes coming!!! :listen:

Lots of votes... This is a great topic... Thank you all who have voted and especially to those who have also offerred their opinions!!

Thanks and keep'em coming!! :)

Hello,

Typhoon Lagoon definatley.

If only for the new slides!

Typhoon Lagoon is great, but if you've got kids (age 3-10) I think Blizzard Beach can't be beat. Far more kids slides and kids pools/attractions. For an adult, either one is great. My kids were kind of bored at TL but we couldn't pry them away from BB.

We voted for BB. I love the wave pool at TL but we live in Florida so the tropical theme is no big deal to us. BB seems to have more slides and is a little better organized and easier to get around. Many of the walkways to the slides at TL have winding paths that go up then down then back up again. The ones at BB are much more direct and when you get to the top you can still get to most of the slides. At TL each set of slides has a different winding path. The family raft ride at BB is so much better than the one at TL. The one at TL is little more than a photo op for Disney to sell you a picture. But we still go to both parks and I am looking forward to the new ride at TL.

We have been to both twice. For a 10 year old, BB is much better. It has more slides and a great family raft ride. My kids enjoy both but have a better time at BB. We rode Crush-in-Gusher this past week at TL. It was fun, but there are just not enough other slides at TL.

I voted for BB because the lazy river seems much better, roomier and deeper. Also, I find myself disoriented at TL - like I can't decide which direction to go! :sad2: My children (12, 7, & 8) love the wave pool at TL, but it makes me a little nervous - hard to keep track of them and I'm always afraid they are going to leave some skin on the bottom!! We'll be there long enough to go to both, but when some friends are joining us who've never been, I'm probably going to take them to BB.

We prefer Blizzard Beach. Have been to both but enjoyed BB more. However, the new ride at TL might be worth trying that park again. :)

But for a 10 year old Blizzard Beach is the way to go ! The theme is very cartoonish and kid like. The Ski Patrol Training area is built just for that age group !!! Great slides. Great family raft ride. Lots of fun.

Both have lazy rivers and wave pool although BB is more tame.

Yes, TL has the shark reef, but after a couple swim throughs it's done. I think the new slide will make if much more crowded right now and if you've never been, the existing slides at BB are more than enough.

Man this is a lot of great information... I'm not sure if this thread has been done recently, but I really appreciate all the pointers and insight!

Thanks and Keep them coming,
Mark
