My sister went to see Mum twice yesterday. She said she was very poorly and very depressed, which is to be expected after such a large and traumatic operation. The nurses really want her to get out of bed, even for a short while, to stop thrombosis but Mum felt far too ill yesterday so they just propped her up with pillows. The doctor has told us that she has a little fluid on her chest, due to the immobility, and they must make sure that this does not develop in to pneumonia. My sister asked how the surgery went and the consultant said that he did everything that he wanted to do and was pleased. Everything has now gone to the oncology lab for tests so we will get the results from that sometime soon.

They have started her off with a drip feed, it is very important as it's full of nutrients and this will enable her recovery. Her nurse yesterday also said that they were delighted with her progress already.

So it's one step at a time - a long way to go still, but it's quite encouraging up to now.

We are off to see her tomorrow morning and hopefully later in the afternoon. Then we will stay with my sister and visit Mum again before we travel back.

Prayers continue for your Mum. BLessing to all of you.

Thanks for the update, W. The anethesia might be what's making her depressed. Plus she may not be up and about as quickly as she had hoped. But, from all the things she's lived through before, you know she's a fighter.:) I hope she gets that fluid taken care of real soon. It seems like things are for the positive though.:bounce:

I hope your Mum is up and about soon. Hugs to you and her and ya'll are both in my prayers:hug:

Sounds like a good update after a tough operation, a real ordeal. Good to hear the upbeat thoughts from the medical folks. Continued good wishes, Belle, along with prayers, hoping things continue as well in the days ahead.

Sounds like things are improving. Prayers for a full recovery.
