I recommend checking out Fifth and Broad while you're here, it's a new area with some new amazing places to eat.
I know sometimes they will shut off Broadway to cars so that might be it. Plus Broadway is a pain to drive around that area.I was there this spring. We could not get any rideshares to come down to lower broadway at night to pick us up. We had to walk a few blocks to get one. Maybe there were a few good reasons for that. If I was a driver, I know I wouldn't want to pick up a bunch of drunks late at night.
Just a heads up I know there were reports of Uber/Lyft being sky high at night. I’d prepare for that Saturday to be high in pricing with a football game going on that nightThanks for the heads up. I might test out my Uber app some Saturday nights to see how available they are
Yep. We live here and getting a rideshare on a weekend night is super pricey and sometimes impossible. It's better to plan to walk a bit away from Lower Broad for best luck but still pricey. Second the recommendation above about Fifth & Broadway, it's an amazing complex and they've done a brilliant job with it.Just a heads up I know there were reports of Uber/Lyft being sky high at night. It’s the nfl team that weekend, it’s our only home preseason game against the bearsI looked at Vanderbilts football schedule but it looks like the first game is Labor Day weekend. Do you think there’s a preseason game that last weekend in August? I couldn’t find it online Or maybe a different school?
You can only drink so much so we did the city tour on the golf cart. Not real expensive and got a lot of cool info

I think you’d be okay, most will pregame during the day then head over the bridge to the game. There’s plenty to do on Saturday without even hitting most of that crowd. We did just open chicken guy on 2nd and I know that will draw much needed business to that street. Do you have music preferences that you like? There’s usually some decent cover bands playing around the area tooAfter looking at the schedule and the perfect/cheap airfare looks like the only other weekend that would work would be December 4-5. But the hotels available then seem just as expensive. So if you had a choice would you do August or December? I see the game on the 28th starts at 7pm and as much as DH and I like to hang out we are getting older and slower and can't really see ourselves out much past midnight. If we planned accordingly do you think we could manage football traffic? (foot traffic, etc.) FWIW I think we would try to do more distant attractions during the early afternoon and spend early eve into the night close by a downtown hotel. Haven't thought much about Sunday yet but most likely close by SoBro as well. Thanks!

I think it was this one. The brought you by all the recording studios, including T Swifts.

there are greats bands everywhere, you have broadway, printer's alley, listening room, bluebird, 3rd and lindsley...if you can get tickets for a show at bluebird, it's worth ubering toWe like a wide variety of music genres (me less country than dh lol). Where will the cover bands likely to be playing? Around 2nd and Broadway? (if that's an area!)
