Hello! We were in the parks this Saturday and Sunday (11/23-11/24). Had one park per day tickets we got on Undercover Tourist, saving us $39. Paid for a meal! We just ended up Ubering to the parks, as we did not want to pay to park at Pixar and not be able to charge our EV.
We started Saturday off at DCA. Got there right at rope drop! 3 out of 4 of us wanted GOTG, but my youngest is not the biggest fan, so we hit RSR first. We pulled a FP (we did not have MP on Sat) and then rode stand by. It was my first time ever going in the standby line! Line moved fast. We won the race and it was a great warm up! We wanted to head to Toy Story next, but it was down. So we talked our youngest into Incredicoaster. He had been on it before and loved it. but it has been a year and he didn't remember. We had lots of fun, but my poor DH got really motion sick! Then we were headed to Goofy's, but boys wanted to ride the Fun Wheel, so I went with DS10 on a non-swinging car and DH and DS11 went in a swinging car.......which wasn't the best idea for DH and his motion sickness. Then only the 3 of us went on Goofy's (DH sat this one out). DS10 wanted to do Incredicoaster again, so DH and DS11 went to pull FP for GOTG. We met back up at Cars Land to use our FP for RSR. Then did some shopping. then DS11 and I headed to GOTG for our FP. We got to ride twice, which was awesome. We got the same song both times, the Elvis song. Was hoping for Jackson 5, since we LOVE the Jackson 5! At this point, we started to run out of steam and grabbed some snacks/treats. The gingerbread mickey cookie is SO yummy! Highly recommend! We had a FP for Soarin, so we headed there. Then we decided to ride Toy Story as stand by. It was a VERY slow line. WOW. We had a great time, but I don't think waiting in the line was worth it! DS10 got a Alien pj's popcorn bucket. He was SO excited! We grabbed some dinner, then boys played for a really long time at Redwood Creek challenge trail! They also went on GRR a couple times by themselves. We had all slept really badly due to a couple cars that kept racing up and down the street our hotel was on. So we were pretty darn tired and all the lines were longer than we wanted to wait. So we left early! I cannot believe we did that, but it was needed. We got to bed early for a better nights sleep.
We got to the security a Harbor around 7:10-7:15ish and headed to Starbucks for breakfast that we had mobile ordered. That was a mistake! As soon as we walked up I knew we were in trouble as the Starbucks was PACKED! Way more people than the previous morning. It took about 20 minutes after we walked up to get our stuff. We had placed the order ten minutes before arrival. So 30 minutes. Just a heads up for others. We ate quickly and headed to the gates, which now had lines all the way back to DCA! We got in right at opening, purchased MP and grabbed a FP for Space right away. Then power walked to Space, to ride stand by, but it was down! Noooooo! We quickly regrouped and headed to the Matterhorn. Then to Indy! I honestly have lost track of the order of all the attractions we did, but we got in 19 attractions! We left at 9:15 PM. We mainly rode E tickets, with Jungle Cruise, Small World, and Tiki room as well. Also had a reservation for Oga's in the evening. MP totally saved the day!
Here is the list:
Matterhorn x2
Indy x2
HMH x2
Jungle Cruise
BTMR x2
Space x3
Star Tours x2
Tiki Room
Splash Mtn
Pirates
Small World
Tom Sawyer Island
Things to note, Indy seemed to be working much better than the last time I rode it. That was awesome! Also, the explosion effect in BTMR worked this time too. YAY! The Tomorrowland entrance already looks SO much better, and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is done. Highly recommend the mango/pineapple dole whip. YUM!
Also, and a major bummer, but we got our usual corndogs at Stage Door cafe. They were SO greasy!! Was really disappointed.
Turkey sandwiches at Jolly Holiday for the win for dinner though!
We also noticed the huge strollers were back. We saw at least 3 of the wagon type strollers and then lots of the really large double strollers. Are they not checking sizing anymore?
One more thing I really noticed was the huge backups at all the attractions for people scanning their tickets for fastpass. It feels like a free for all to scan your tickets and get in line! Then, lots of people just stand and block the scanners and jam up the entire process. I feel like it could be better organized in some way....
Overall we had a great time on our annual DL Christmas time trip!
