What a wonderful cruise. This was cruise #11 for us. Calm seas! yeah, last two spring break cruises in March were bad seas for a couple of days. This time perfect. Some early morning rain, not bad in beginning of cruise. Daughter tells us this was the best cruise ever! She had a blast up in the Stack. Next year she will be 18 and in college so no Stack time for her.
Ports were fantastic. Learned we will not be a fan of the large cruise ships. We missed going up to Paradise Point for the first time in many many cruises. We never had had a line to pay, in the past, walk up pay and wait until tram arrives to take you up. This trip a huge line, I mean huge. We know how slow the tram is so we decided we would not wait an hour to ride up then to be so crowded up on top we couldn't even enjoy it. Why was it crowded? Well, Freedom of the Seas and Carnival Glory, both huge ships with Freedom being the biggest of the two and both a lot bigger than the Magic, both ships srrived back to back so it looked like both ships had passengers getting off at once.
The Havensight area was just clogged up with people! as was Paradise Pt. We have been in port with the larger Royal Carb. ships but not the Freedom, been in port with larger Princess and never experienced what we experienced this trip. Even though only 3 ships were docked at Havensight location it might as well been 5 ships! Nasty crowded. I hope next year we don't dock with the Freedom. St. Martin was OK, only three ships so not bad at all.
Castaway Cay, yes it was on the chilly side and for me the water was ice cold but there was the hearty ones who were swimming. Pelican Plunge opened up, nice surprise for us. Maybe if it was warmer. It looked like a lot of fun.
We did rebook for next March. For us that means a bit shorter trip due to daughter's schedule but we will still get the 7 day cruise in. Probably will spend one night before cruise and after cruise at the Hyiatt.
