Am thinking of taking a quick trip the last weekend in January, probably just for a long weekend. Won't get more than 2 maybe 2.5 days at the parks. We were just there for a week in May '07 and my kids mostly just want to do MK (6, 4 and 2). Was thinking of staying on the Monorail for convenience and can easily take the 2 year old back for naps. We did a 2BR Beach Club villa in May which was awesome but I think we are going to be thrifty and just jam in one room for a couple days.

At this point, Wilderness, Contemporary and Poly seemed to be similar in price. Would like to know recommendations on Resort and room type if possible.

Thanks!!

HI, we've done all three resorts, and they all have their good points. At WL we stayed in a CY view room with two queens, the view was awesome! Here are shots of the geyser:

At the Polynesian we were in a garden view room in Samoa, volcano pool side, close to the elevator. The view was great, pool and slight MK from the balcony. I can't find the pictures, but it was before renovations. Cant beat the convenience of both monorails.

We have stayed at the CR several times, most of them before the rehab. Our last stay was this past May, garden view. The rooms are okay now but they have a slight feng sui feel, not as colorful as the old rooms. Also, only the first floor rooms in the wing have patios, no balconies unless you book tower. Our tower stays were prior to renovations and we were not that bowled over to appreciate the extra cost. You have the added convenience of walking to the MK, even with a stroller its an easy stroll.

I guess it depends on the theme you like. The WL is the least expensive, followed by CR then Poly. Also, people mention that historically there is a code released in early November for January. I know we are booked at YC now with AAA, there were no AAA rates available at WL for our dates. Also, we had an AP rate at YC in early Feb a few years back, so that's also an option. Good luck!

We love Poly! We stayed Garden View in Fiji, third floor marina side and absolutely loved it. I would not hesitate to book GV again at Poly for our next trip. We've never stayed at WL or CR. CR just doesn't appeal to me or DH. You may already know this, but WL is not on the monorail. I believe you have to take a boat or a bus to the parks from WL.
