I don't know why I am struggling with this, but I am. I will be in Disney Tue, Wed, and now Thu because I added a day this morning. I have reservations for Tue and Wed night at YC. I can't add another night on my bounceback (no YC avail), so now I need a 1-night reservation somewhere.
Here are my options:
YC then Swan
YC then Pop
The difference between the two is 35.00 total. On Thu night, it will just be a place for sleep as I am leaving early Fri morning (I don't think I want to break the bank for just a place to sleep). I don't know if I should wait until tomorrow to see if something opens up last-minute, or just book one of these now. I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this, lol. WWYD?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Disney will transport your luggage for you from hotel to hotel so if that's a factor I'd choose pop

When calculating the difference, did you remember to include any fees at the Swan? Their rates always look good until I start adding in the fees.

As far as the decision, I would base it on where you plan to spend your last day. Although transportation on the Skyliner is simple to Epcot and DHS (and I love Pop), staying in one of the Epcot area hotels is even better. I would vote for the cheapest option if going to MK or AK, and Swan if going to DHS or Epcot.

I would stay wherever is cheapest, even if it's an AllStar (DH and I are staying at Sports for 3 nights, starting in 2 weeks). As you say, it's a place to sleep for the night, and if it's a Disney resort, they'll transport your luggage for you; not sure if they'll do that at the Swan (so you'd have to walk it up, can't take luggage on Disney transportation so I'll assume this includes the boats). Also... resort fees at the Swan can jack up the 'apparent' price.

I've stayed at YC and then added on a night at the Dolphin while staying at YC. YC wasn't available. I thought it was easy to just roll our suitcases over. I'm guessing with a 3 night stay that you're traveling light. ;)

I definitely would base it on which park you plan to visit your last day (as fla4fun mentioned above). I'm a DVC owner at BWV and absolutely love the convenience of walking to/from HS and Epcot...would not trade that for huge lines at night to ride skyliner). I vote Swan if going to either of those. If AK or MK, I'd pick Pop instead for luggage convenience. Even though they can pack in like sardines, I've noticed bus service to Pop is far more frequent than Swan & Dolphin. Can be rough waiting a long time for your bus at the end of a long night and watching 3 busses come for other resorts while you stand around (which we've done)! 😂

Swan & Dolphin don’t use Disney buses, their buses are in different areas, so you won’t see the Pop buses coming/ going from the S & D bus stop. However, Disney will transport luggage to those resorts. Note, your luggage may not arrive ant your new resort until late afternoon, usually they say 3-5 pm. In case that’s an issue for you. Although as already pointed out, from YC, you could just roll your luggage over to Swan yourself. What’s most important to you? If you’re really looking to save money, stay at Pop. If you want convenience of transfer, stay at Swan & take your luggage over yourself.

As PPs have noted, just make sure you are including the resort fee when pricing out Swan. If it's in the budget, I would go with the Swan and just walk your luggage over when you check out of YC. It's so much easier than dealing with the Disney luggage transfer. The buses from Swan/Dolphin don't get a lot of love on here, but we just stayed at the Dolphin and it couldn't have been easier to take the bus to/from DS, MK and AK. In fact, the Swan/Dolphin buses drop off and pick up closer to the AK entrance than the Disney buses.

I would pick the Swan. You get to stay in the Crescent lake area with all the dining options. Disney will move your luggage to the Swan while you are out enjoying your day on Thursday using the exact same system that Disney uses for all the other Disney resorts.

The Swan is using Mears buses so the pickup / drop-off are different for AK, and MK. AK is actually closer to the AK entrance but the MK bus drop / pickup is at the TTC.

The nice thing about the Crescent lake locaiton is you are able to grab a bus at any resort bus location headed for the YC / BC / BWI heading back to the Swan if you are at the MK.
