I just purchased a small VWL add-on (25 points) and from the time it took to make the offer to the the time it took for the points being added to my membership was 40 days. Here's the timeline:

4/6 - Made offer & accepted
4/9 - Sent to DVD for ROFR
4/10 - Deposit received by TTS
5/1 - ROFR waived
5/8 - Closed
5/16 - Points are in the system (at least when I checked My Vacation Points at the DVC member site. I was checking daily)

Is that unusual? This is my fourth purchase, and I don't recall any of the others being that quick from beginning to end.

A search of the Orange County Comptrollers office shows that the deed was recorded on 5/8, so everything is officially official. I also received my completed paperwork from DVC with my membership number & the deed from the title company Monday, 5/21.

There's a link in the DVC Resource Center to the Orange Comprollers Owner/Deed Search in post #7 in this forum (it's the second sticky subject). It asks for an account in the upper right corner, but don't put anything there. Just click the button at the bottom of the page. Fill in the information in the Grantee field and click the search button. That should do it.
