Quick Service plan question: QS credit for breakfast

Hi there! I've done the QS plan 4 times in the past few years, but the last time was in December 2011, before they took out the second daily snack credit. Snce then, the QS plan looks a lot less attractive to me. However, for our next trip (May 2014), I'm wondering if it could fit our party.

So, my question: have any of you in recent history been able to sub the breakfast beverage for another item (like a fruit bowl), or been able to get what they used to call a "continental combo" for a QS credit (3 snack items instead of one meal and one beverage)? We used to be able to do that at ASMu, but that doesn't mean Disney hasn't put an end to that since.

If there is no more flexibility on the breakfast, we may just skip the QS plan, unless we get it free...

By the way, we always stay in value resorts, which are sometimes a bit more flexible, at least historically.

Thanks all!

I've not heard of anyone being able to sub something for the drink. It sometimes goes the other way around at QS lunch (get a drink instead of a dessert), but not a fruit bowl for a drink.

There are a few reports of still being able to get 2-3 snacks and a drink, but they are getting fewer and fewer. Some have even said they were only allowed one snack.

Either way, unless you have free dining or the S/P/D deal, the QSDP cost is right at $40 per adult. So, 3 snacks at $4 and a $3 drink is only $15. Add another $4 snack for your regular snack, and you'll need to "spend" $21 just to break even for those days. And if you could do an entrée and fruit bowl, you're in the same boat as most breakfast entrees are $9, and a fruit bowl is $4-5, so that's even less than the continental combo you may or may not be able to do.

We use the snack credit as breakfast! You can get a cinnamon roll, bowl of fruit or croissant! And we just fill our drink mug for our beverage!
We always have desserts left over from meals throughout the week also....save those for snacks!

I believe that they will not allow you to substitute anything for the beverage.

Those places that offer the continental combo, the reports are that it consists of: 1 baked good, 1 piece of fruit (not a fruit bowl) and 1 beverage, and depending on who you ask they probably won't let you substitute anything outside those parameters.
