Quick Service options during EPCOT EMH

Doing some last minute planning for my upcoming trip. We decided that we want to hit a park on arrival day for a few hours to hit a ride or two and just wander. Our plane is scheduled to get in at about 7:45PM so I was thinking we'd make it to the park by around 9. That makes our options either EPCOT which has EMH from 9-11PM or MK which is open until 12AM.

I know most quick service locations are usually open until park close. Does EMH count as well? Where would you go for a late night meal? (I'm already planning on hitting Sunshine Seasons for lunch on our actual EPCOT day). My group is me(26), my friend(27) and my brother(19).

Thanks!

How are you getting to WDW? Getting to the park at 9:00 is only possible if you rent a car and drive straight to Epcot.

We're using the Magical Express. This is just a last minute bonus day. We weren't planning on going to a park at first but my friend has a ticket because she's leaving a day earlier but her ticket length had to match ours. My brother and I decided it's worth the extra $10 or so for a little bit more time in the parks and will add the day when we check in. So we're not expecting to be there exactly at 9 or anything. I know it's usually 2 hours between landing and getting to a park so maybe 9:30-9:45 is a more accurate estimation.

Do they stop running the buses to EMH parks? If so then MK is our only option. Or if they do run both maybe we'll just hop on the first on that comes. I was just checking if the stars aligned correctly and we did make it if there would be any food options open.

It's usually closer to 3 hours. You won't even be at your resort until close to 9:30.

I'm not sure exactly what will be open, but your options will definitely be limited. I'm pretty sure the CS loacations in World Showcase all close at 9:00.

On another note: don't add the day when you check in. Always use a ticket at least once before upgrading it.

China and Morocco for sure for QS. I think Electric Umbrellas stays open, but don't eat there, especially on your first day!!

The daily times guide will have the hours for the CS restaurants. But I agree with Alesia. You will arrive at the park very late. By the time you get thru security and into the park it will likely be closer to 10:30. That would make going to either park pretty much a waste if you are going to spend a good chunk of that time eating.

Hmmm... I had forgotten about that rule to get the current value for a ticket. I'm guessing if I did use the ticket then that would clear the FPs I have scheduled for my last day. Don't want to lose those since we'll be meeting up with our cousins on our last day and we managed to get matching FPs. OH well if it does become complicated then I'll just let my friend go and my brother and I can just hang around the resort.

We were probably lucky the last time we used DME because I know we managed to get from the airport to CBR then to the back of HS in under 2 hours (we were on line for DME a little after 9 since we were already checking ride times and we were at the backlot express before it opened for lunch). That's why I'm underestimating the time. I'll probably just suggest we eat before our flight even if it's a little early.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I don't think it will clear any fp, but I could be mistaken. Just go in and upgrade the next day. I wouldn't want to waste time that first night in line to upgrade tickets. Eat, do whatever you like at Epcot if you want. :)

It totally depends on the order of hotels and the luck of the wait for the DME buses. I've been at my resort less than an hour after my plane was scheduled to land (this was landing around noon in August), but it was the second hotel (All Star Music after All Star Sports). It has also taken me 2.5 hours. It all depends on the luck of the buses, right? LOL Good luck and have fun. You can always decide the day of, depending on times.

Back to food, I would think Sunshine Seasons would be open, but I can't say for sure. I don't remember eating when I was there for EMH. I usually just like to walk around WS.

The FPs will still be there. We added a day about halfway through the trip and still had our FPs for the last day. We were able to book one more day of FPs than our tickets had, so I don't know if that was a glitch our a normal occurrence.

Also, I don't think taking DME will get you to your resort and checked in until after 9. Just be ready in case of delays. Nothing makes me more disappointed than planning and not being able to do it. Last year, we drove down, but had car trouble so we were delayed by more than 3 hours and missed our BOG FP time. You could also have good luck and get in earlier and be the first stop on DME. :thumbsup2Have a good time!

So just to check this I looked up which park has EMH today (Epcot) and then looked at the MDE app, found the electric umbrella. It lists this:

Hours: 11am - 9pm
EMH: 9pm - 11pm

So does that mean the electric umbrella is open today until 11pm or is the app just showing you the the restaurant closes at 9 but there are EMH tonight?
