I am not sure where to post this, but I thought I'd post here since technically its a "family" question. :)

We are on the Disney Dining Plan, so I have been reading up on all the details, etc. I noticed that several people mention that Quick Service credits are all the same, therefore your children can order an adult meal or a kids meal.

Does anyone know if this is correct? I have a 6 year old, but also a 1 year old. We were planning on sharing meals, so it would be nice to have the 6 yr old and 1 yr old share a meal once in a while.

TIA!

We stayed at Art of Animation and our receipt never differentiated between Adult and Child Quick Service meals. I had Guest Services print out our remaining dining credits and the Table Service meals were separate (Adult and Child), but the Quick Service meals were all lumped together.

Summary of it is...It is true the credits don't differentiate, but a child cannot get an adult QS meal with a child credit unless there is no children's menu.

Well, I'm sure there are ways around everything if you have enough credits. OP, I hope you get the answers you need.

I don't know how it works now that everyone is using Magic Bands. With the KTTW, it was printed on the card which dining plan and how many adults and children were on it, i.e., it would say "02A02C" for 2 adults and 2 children. SOME (and maybe MOST) CMs would look at the card and say, "You can get 2 adult meals and 2 kids' meals" and that was what they would allow you to order. However, the credits are not differentiated and SOME (not ALL) CMs would say, "order 4 meals," and wouldn't care what they were. I know that we stayed at CSR the year my oldest was 8 and didn't really want a kids' meal any longer and the server heard him say, "but I don't want a kids' meal" and she told us to let him order anything he wanted, that all the credits were equal. So we let him get what he wanted and it wasn't a problem. Was this technically allowed by the rules of the DDP? No, but that CM said it was fine, so we did it.

Like I said, now that everyone is using the MB, I don't know how the CMs at the QS know how many meals you're entitled to, unless they scan your band prior to you ordering.

This was our experience. If at Casey's waiting for the parade they did not have a children's menus so dgs got the corn dog meal. I can't remember where else, but it happened a few times. My son thought they were using his adult credits until I inquired for him.

We could not use two child credits to get an adult meal.

It works like this if you have 2 adults and one child on the dining plan in order to get 3 adult meals you need to order separately. In any one transaction you can order 2 adult meals and one kids so if you order in two transactions you won't go over that total so hubby has 2 order two meals in one line and you have to order one meal in the other so long as you don't order 3 adult meals in one transaction you will never be questioned.

Please note I don't necessarily condone this but I do know this is how it works.
