thinking ahead to next august (as you do!) and food in the parks.:goodvibes

we have previously used snack credits for items in main street bakery-however as we will be dropping from 8 daily snacks to 4 next year- i was wondering about using a counter service credit-

i read breakfast is a drink,pastry/bagel and one whole fruit.

so what is available on the dining plan for lunch or dinner-as when we tend to eat there is later on in the day,or is the "breakfast" option available all day long?:confused3
if possible i would like to eat the hard boiled eggs in a meal-yummy!

thanks in advance for any assistance.:)

When we were there in Feb 11 we had sandwiches (which are huge), crisps, drink and a cake for lunch. Food was good and we are planning on going back when we are there in november :)

For breakfast its an entree and a drink..so for my last breakfast on Monday I had a Mickey waffle with strawberrys and an orange juice and DH has a make your own omelette which comes with breakfast potatoes and an orange juice. The breakfast options are not all day they tend to change over to lunch tme/evening time menus from 11 am.

After breakfast has stopped then you can have the lunch/dinner options which gives you an entree, dessert and a drink. You are getting lots more value out of your CS credit this way as well. On average our breakfast for the two of us where coming in on the $27 mark and our lunch/dinner's were coming in on the $43 mark. There is such a lot of food, you could easily save your dessert option for the next morning if you chose some thing like a bakery item. We often went for a muffin or a cookie and saved it for the next day's breakfast.:)

thanks mrtoffee and vanda for your info.

what kind of sandwiches or other entree options are available for lunch and dinner?

we've only had drinks, fruit and muffins there previously-snacks to keep us going on emh nights.

what times do you think are best to head to the bakery for lunch or dinner?
the evening was v. busy,but v. nice:banana::banana:

I think they were ham and Turkey, im sure there is also a veggie option as well :)

Sadly those days are gone. In late 2010 we were still being given a sandwich, plus a side (chips or fruit) and a pastry or cake (or skip the fruit and have 2 pastries/cakes). It is now one sandwich, one pastry OR cake OR fruit and one beverage. It was like that last year and the same this year. You only have a choice of three sandwiches: Turkey, Ham or Mozarella & Pesto.

If you are picky about what you eat and only eat one of the three kinds of sandwiches, be there earlier rather than later. They replenish stock continuously but from about an hour before the parades we noticed they seem to start running out. They did not have the sandwiches we wanted and when I said we don't eat ham the CM asked if we could just take the ham off :lmao: I asked if we could just take 2 pastries as a meal with a drink and skip the sandwich and they said no. This is the same as happened last year.

They used to be very easy going about working your credits, but it seems they have enforced a much stricter rule about using the dining plan. Great food but try get there early

Vanda, are you not thinking of WPE?

probably:rotfl: I am still in the land of jet lag! I don't know if I am coming or going at the moment. Never had it this bad before..:confused3
Walked around Tesco's in a daze this afternoon and seemed tobe the only one dressed for the artic:) Luckily no work until Monday although I do have to go to a wedding tomorrow! I can see myself in a corner somewhere fast asleep:rotfl:

You lightweight you! We got back monday afternoon and I was at work on Tuesday. But over the years I've nailed this jetlag thing.

When you get onto that plane, reset your watch and it's all about eating and sleeping in your new time zone. So when they serve dinner at 9 pm on the fligth (but UK time is really 2 am) don't eat. Sleep. Like everyone else in the UK. When we get back even if, like last year, we land at 9 am, we force ourselves awake all day and go to bed no earlier than 7 or 8 pm. No jetlag. Just Disney blues ;)

I had a bad year in 2010. I did NOT want to come back home. I have no idea what came over me but I cried for about a week. I 'hated' the UK, 'hated' the weather, 'hated' my house, didn't want to be here ..... :scratchin And I really didn't care about a routine at all. So knowing full well what I was doing wrong, we were eating dinner at 3 am here, staying up through the night and generally living in East Coast time zone. Yeah, I knew it was causing hassles but I was too miserable to care. Still have NO CLUE what came over me that year. I've never had that happen to me before!

i too am a lightweight....

back to msb...

you may find using a SC for a cinnamon bun (which is the size of ur head!!) a better use of the ddp and saving ur cs for lunch dinner.... or try and eat before u get to the parks, for example, at captain cooks u get tonga toast (which is huge) for a cs bfast...

also remember that after a few days u ll be sick of the sight of food, we got desserts to eat in the room before leaving fruit even cheesecake!! and found the longer we were there the less we needed bfast at the start of the day iyswim.
also in mk for a snack credit u can get cream cheese stuffed pretzels for a sc (in tomorrowland) they re very good :thumbsup2

if u have a car consider going to pepper market for a full buffet bfast or lunch before attacking the park, thats an excellent use of a cs meal...

head over to the restaurant boards, check out the snack thread, and see what other people are saying... imo MSB is amazing for pastries but id have bfast (with a cs credit) elsewhere id hit the mk resorts before going into the park for more food ffor ur credit....
