On the quick service dining plan do you have to get an entree?

Sometimes at the food court I would prefer to just get smaller things like soup, fries, a side salad, etc. Is that allowed? Like up to a certain dollar amount? Or are you required to get a regular meal?

At many QS restaurants you can get 3 "snack" labeled items in exchange for a QS credit, but if you still wanted a drink, you would only get 2 snacks.

As PP said, you can usually get 3 snack items to make up 1 QS credit, but you need to be sure they are available for a snack credit. It's definitely easier to do at your resort, but you should ask a CM what is eligible before you start gathering your items and how many.

Once you start exchanging meals for snack does the plan make economic sense.

Depends on the snacks. If you take the refillable mug out of the equation, an adult QS meal is roughly "worth" $21. The problem now with doing the exchange is you will possibly lose the alcoholic portion, which drives the value up tremendously. Until someone tries the exchange and asks if they can still get the drink, we won't know how they're going to handle this.
