quick service dining plan price?

I think it is $29.99 for adults. I can't remember where I saw that though.

Has anyone done the math on this to see if it is a good deal? I did some checking and the refillable mug is of some value but you'd have to pro-rate that over the length of the trip. At this point, we're close to a "break even" proposition.

I checked a few menues on allearsnet.com and counter service meals run from $6.00 - $8.50.

A beverage is probably another $2.39?

I used the menus at allearsnet.com and selected 2 meals (one resort & one theme park) + beverages + dessert. It came to $25.01. One was a middle of the road meal (&7.09) and the other was upper end ($8.95).

Add two snacks ($3.50 average) and that brings the total to $32.01. With cheaper meals ($6.99 & $7.09), you would only save $0.07 cents. There are cheaper beverages too.

This would be okay, assuming you would normally include a dessert. When my family eats at the counter service restaurants, we don't typically buy a dessert.

Our family does typically enjoy a few table-service meals on each trip: Boma, a character meal, etc. Would these have to be paid separately or is there some option for upgrading a counter-service meal to a table service meal? I know about the standard meal plan - I'm just asking about upgrading within the quick-service plan.

I think that it would be great if Disney had meal plan with 2 t/s and 1 c/s meal per day! Usually when we go on vacation we like to eat a bigger breakfast, a quick bite for lunch and then a bigger dinner (granted that could be changed around a bit!) My Dh is a HUGE fan of bacon and eggs!

They have that plan, they call it Deluxe DDP where you can get 3 meals a day, CS or TS mix and match every way you like.

But it is priced accordingly. I think this last offering of the QS plan rounds out the offerings nicely.

We recently returned and found most counter service meals run the
around the prices you indicate. I was thinking that a counter service meal plan would be a good idea when we travel with the kids.(this was a trip just for the two of us), more as a conveniene factor than anything else. Even if you broke even, and didn't find it a savings. There is something to be said for not having to keep taking out your wallet, and the kids can eat where they are, and when they want. In our case, our kids are older. Some get up early..some may opt to sleep in. We may be in the park with two...but the other may be at the resort. We usually meet up for a sit down meal once a day. That we would pay out of pocket for using our Dining Experience Card..where we save 20 percent on table service meals. Having this counter service plan might be something we'd consider, just so as not to worry about making sure who has money for meals, and who doesn't. It would be on their card..and not a concern. Something to be said for the mere convenience of the plan.
