Quick Service Dining Plan - A Review & Pictures - 14 Days in August 2011

OMG, your photo of the veggie plate from the Tangierine Cafe has me drooling. This is great!

Great reviews and photos!:thumbsup2

Shows the amazing range of CS options in WDW - not just burger and nuggets!

Can't wait for more!

Thank you!!!:goodvibes I have more coming up, just need some time to sit down to write more..the kids want dinner & I have no CS credits to use here at home. :rotfl:

I was also going through my receipts & was hoping to post the actual cost of each meal.

No credits for home is a bummer. My kids always ask for dessert when we get home because they have had one with every meal at WDW. We even find ourselves standing at fast food counters calculating the meal in credits.

Since you started out with one of my favorites (Columbia Harbour House), I have to jump onboard!! Did you get the pun? :rotfl2: Sorry, that was a bad one :upsidedow

Excellent reviews :goodvibes
The Tangierine Cafe Veggie Platter is probably the best vegetarian CS meal on property :cloud9:
Really looking forward to the rest of your reviews popcorn::

I am loving your report and your pictures are wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to do it. WOW 14 days!! You are so lucky!

That spaghetti sauce at WPE looks terribly disappointing! We loved WPE when we ate there, but only had pizza, salad and rotisserie chicken. Without a doubt, there is a Cloudberry Horn with my name on it!

We lost power all day yesterday due to Irene so I was not able to finish the report...More pictures & reviews coming up. :surfweb:

Also looks like I have to organize my photobucket, thanks for reading along.

We had a late start at the MK so we got snacks for lunch & ate dinner at the CR later that night.

Aloha Isle - Citrus Swirl

Pineapple Dole Whip - Love my Dole Whip!!!

Main Street Ice Cream Shop - Mint Chocolate Chip

And good old chocolate! They serve hand scooped Edy's ice cream which my family loves. Most of the other snack places offer soft serve.

Coming up CS dinner at Contempo Cafe.

Eating a counter service lunch works well in the parks because we eat early. However dinner did not work as well for us. Anywhere from 5pm-8pm is a madhouse in the MK so we opted to walk over to the Contemporary & eat dinner there. Usually we hear the "celebrate" song from Chef Mickey's but did not hear them sing once the entire time we were there which must have been at least 45 minutes. Hmmm...maybe a cost cutting measure???
Well this was a good choice for a quieter meal outsidethe parks. :goodvibes

Contempo Cafe

My DH got the vegetable bake with roasted eggplant, onions, garlic, zucchini, tomatoes, & potatoes. He said this was flavorless.

I got the pasta with chicken and basil cream sauce. It was tasty & filling.
296.jpg

My kids got the pasta marinara.
297.jpg

They gobbled it all up.

We all got water or lemonades.

Now the real reason we went to the Contempo was for the cupcakes!! Thanks to the Disboards we knew to order these & they were all delicious but I loved mine the most at the top..The black forest. Yum!

The other cupcakes were a dulce de leche, strawberry, & a worms & dirt.

Our bill was $75. After dinner we looked in the shops & were refreshed to hit the MK again.

The next morning we got an early start at the Port Orleans Riverside food court. All 5 of us got the bounty platter with OJ's. My DH & I used our refillable mugs for coffee. I loved having coffee already made for me every morning. :lovestruc

It included a Mickey waffle, biscuit, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, & sausage. DH ordered his without meat & they gave him a double portion of eggs.

DH & I are big mexican food fans...love love love mexican so we were really looking forward to eating lunch at La Cantina San Angel.

We used an extra CS credit to get the guacomole & chips as our "appetizer" to share.
371.jpg

I got the chicken tacos.
369.jpg

My older DD & DH had the empanadas de queso.

My 2 younger kids had the tacos de carne but I forgot to take a picture of it. All the tacos were covered in cilantro. Either you love cilantro or not & we don't so we all tried to pick off as much as we can. Our desserts were the churros with caramel.

This meal was $108 & totally not worth the price. None of us loved anything we ordered except the guacomole. The churros were really good though, much better than ones they used to have here. They are 4 short soft churros with the dip & very tasty. (sorry no picture) We all liked the menu here (especially the quesadillas) much better before they did the refurb...please bring back those quesadillas & the old menu Disney!!:worship:

This was not a winner for us.

We are using the quick service plan this trip so your reviews are gold to me!:) Looking forward to more!!!!

Love the MK snacks and can't wait to try a cupcake from Contempo Cafe! :thumbsup2
