Quick service dining credit help!!!

I need some clarification on the dining plan if possible. We will be in WDW in August and this will be our first time on the dining plan. I've been reading on sites, that counter service restaurants do not distinguish adult and kids credits, so technically, you could older 4 "adult" meals for 2 adults and 2 kids. I can see how that may work at cosmic rays, but what about be our guest? Would that still work being that it's a counter service, but sit down restaurant?(would be so awesome if it does)

BOG is QS for breakfast and lunch. Kids can order anything at those meals.

Your dining plan quick serve credits are not valid at BOG Dinner, which is the only "sit-down" meal at BOG. That requires table service credits, and children must order from the children's menu at dinner.

Unless they're changed it recently, guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available when on the QS plan. So if you all went to BOG for breakfast or lunch you would have to order 2 adult and 2 child meals since BOG has a child menu.

A few places don't have a child's menu, then you can order 4 adult meals. These are Casey’s Corner, Catalina Eddie’s, Sommerfest, and Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the parks.

One way to stretch those QS credits is to go to a quick service and use 2 QS credits for the adults and pay out of pocket for the kids. That way you can later use their 2 QS credits for a more expensive adult meal.

Actually, all QS credits are a pool and there is no differentiation when paying between an adult and a child. They claim a child must use the children's menu, but there is no way to enforce based on credit classification.

So we'll have 66 adult QS credits and 22 child QS credits to start our trip. Are you saying, for example, if we use up all 66 adult credits first, then the 22 child credits that are left can technically be used for an adult meal category?

All quick service meals are pooled together for all the guests without distinction of adult vs child. Technically you are supposed to order off the kids menu for the kids, BUT if you go to the counter and the kids stay at the table you can order all adult meals since the quick service credits are not separated into adult and child. For any table service you must order off the kids menu.

You don't have 66 adult and 22 child credits in this situation, you have 88 QS credits. As mentioned they don't have adult and child credits, just QS credits. However if you bring your kids to order with you and they have a kids menu it's my understanding you have to order from the kids menu for them. If they aren't there, I'm guessing you could order all adult meals since again, there is no such thing as a kids QS credit.

Let's put this into a different context. Your DDP credits are a basket of fruit. You can exchange a fruit for a meal.

Adult TS credit = apple

Child TS credit = orange

All QS credits = banana

So while they say "kids have to order from a children's menu where available!" the reality is that whether someone orders a child QS or an adult, they will pay for it with a banana. There is no way to tell the difference between a child banana and an adult banana at the cash register.

At TS, because a child has an orange to trade, the children's menu rule can be enforced.

However if you bring your kids to order with you and they have a kids menu it's my understanding you have to order from the kids menu for them.

Generally not enforced. The contracts and compensation are not dependent on "child orders child QS," again, because there is no credit differentiation in system.
