Hi everyone! My kids are picky eaters. Just curious can I order some changes to a quick service food option? Example: menu has Mac and cheese, can I ask for just plain pasta with nothing on it?

Very unlikely, I’d think.

Remember that most quick service is exactly that. It is not a full made from scratch kitchen. Most items will be heat and serve. So, any mac and cheese is likely not made fresh in that QS location.

If anything, play with mobile order to see what you can and cannot customize. You can still check at the location, but this will give you an idea ahead of time.

You can customize in mobile slightly, but mostly like if a burger comes with Lettuce, tomato and Mayo you could ask to have one or more of those off. You could not type in a request or ask for mac n cheese to not have cheese, it's not that specific. You might have some luck if you order in person, but as the PP said, much at QS is premade offsite so some things they wouldn't be able to do.

I can not say for Disney quick serve but for my small park it would not be possible as Mac and Cheese comes frozen premade and we just heat up. but I would not be surprised if they are the same way. lot less to prepare. you can ask but be ready to go to plan 2 if they can not do the plain mac

Play with the app and do some test mobile orders. A lot have options to modify (although your mac & cheese example is mostly premade, as everyone said above). But I know Primo Piatto at Riviera has noodles on the kids menu that you can modify with no sauce. So does Docking Bay 7 at HS.

I don't know about WDW, but at Disneyland I've had to customize a few mobile orders. Some customizations are available in the app but things like just having plain pasta wouldn't be. For example, I wanted a veggie burger but it came with vegan cheese. I can't eat most vegan cheeses so I wanted to swap it for normal cheddar. I placed my mobile order. When my window came up, instead saying "I'm here, prepare my order", I went to the CM at the front of the restaurant and told them the situation. They sent me to the pickup counter and told me to tell the preparer the change I needed.

They were then able to make that change for me. You just need to speak to the CMs, they can normally help you out if you explain the situation.

Also, as far as no cheese on the pasta...again, this is a Disneyland specific reference. I ordered a mac & cheese dish over here, and I watched them pour the cheese sauce on the pasta. I don't know if that would be the case for the kids' Mac & Cheese though. But, it doesn't hurt to ask the CMs before your order
