Travelers: Me, DH, DS12, DD10, DD 17 months
We started out at POP. We payed for a preferred building in the 60s--on the side away from the pool, yet only a few short steps away from the elevator. What a great location! Quick trip to the pool, food court and bus stop.
The room was very nice and clean, and the beds were low (yeah!). The resort is fabulous--bright, cheerful, with lots of energy. It really feels like a Disney vacation! There are lots of ducks if you walk around the water side.
Mousekeeping was great at keeping up after my messy family (I try so hard to keep up after them, but it's tough). No towel animals, but that's fine and we enjoyed looking at them in the other windows.
The baby loved the pop-up fountains and the kids loved the big pool. I loved that the big pool was really open and I could keep an easy eye out on the kids. I never had a problem getting a nice spot to park myself in.
We only stayed three nights at POP, and loved it so much we were a little bummed to be switching resorts!
CBR: Our first impression was that it took too long to get anywhere! We got off the bus from the parks and seemed to walk forever to get to our room. That problem was solved shortly when DH went on an expedition to find the shortest path everywhere. The obvious path is rarely the shortest. Once DH found the easiest path, our walks were very short.
Compared to POP the room seemed HUGE! What a difference not to be on top of each other! The room was very pretty. We made good use out of the fridge. The privacy curtain was a big plus with the older kids. There was much more room for the pack-n-play than at POP, but the one they brought was pretty beat up (the one at POP was much newer). Not a huge deal.
Mousekeeping was again great at keeping up after my clan and we had towel animals almost every day!
The grounds are beautiful. My kids preferred the pool (with the slide!) to POP's, though I had a hard time keeping track of them from one spot. We had a late dinner one night at the food court and ate outside and watched Illuminations. Boy, what a tough life.
DD did the pirate cruise and had a great time, DS was old enough to pilot a boat by himself and loved it!
We loved the ducks, birds, bunnies and lizards that were lurking around everywhere, and had a ball checking out the frogs on the walls come back late one night!
The only real negative at both resorts is that the carpets were gross. The baby rarely keeps anything on her feet, and I had to wash them constantly. Oh, and for those people who freak out about the rarely-washed bedspreads, my toddler was licking them! What can you do, she's quick.
Thumbs up for both resorts!
