We just got back from a short Halloween trip (10/27-11/2). We are WDW veterans and have stayed at almost all the resorts. We stayed at the FW Cabins. We loved it. and the kids (8,5,5) all really loved it too. We stayed in the 2200 loop. Which was very convenient and rented a golf cart. The cabin had a lot of great amenities. There was a tv with a DVD/VCR player in the living room. And a Murphy bed which the kids thought was hysterical. A full kitchen and housekeeping did the dishes and put them away everyday I wish I had this at home . The bedroom had a double bed and a bunkbed with a large closet (w/safe) and a bureau with a large mirror and hair dryer and a separate tv. There was a deck with picnic bench and a BBQ grill outside. The kids loved the log cabin look and really enjoyed having our own private cabin at Disney. You don't have to rent a golf cart they are around $50/day. So not cheap but the kids really loved it. I also think it helped getting to the parks alittle. We would take the cart to the main bus stops and the kids loved being able to ride the cart right to the cabin door after a full day at the parks. I don't know if it helped all that much time wise but we didn't have to use an internal bus to pick up everyone at all the loops and then go to the main bus stop (either the outpost or settlement) and wait for the buses to EPCOT, AK or DHS or the boat to MK. So it seemed like you might be saving a little time. People decorated their golf carts and their camp sites. So we had a great time just driving around the Fort (or looping in FW lingo). Some people had outragious decorations at their campsites. The kids got so much candy that at the end of the night we were stopping the golf cart and reverse Trick or Treating. Especially people who were coming back from the parks. The kids had a ball sharing their candy and the people who recieved the candy seemed happy and thanked the kids. The kids thought it was more fun then getting the candy. They were really cute. Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party on Oct 30th was alot of fun. So this trip was all about Halloween. There were several playgrounds that the kids really had fun playing on and they always met nice kids from other states. Which was fun. They liked getting drinks and sitting on the porch at Crocketts Tavern in the rocking chairs. The trading posts were nice and if you forgot something it was easy to pick it up. Hope this helps someone. We wouldn't hestitate to stay at the cabins again. But we'd definately get a golf cart.
Thanks to everyone here for all your help before we left. We appreciated it :flower3:

Great report...thanks for sharing !! I've heard alot of good things about the cabins. I'm glad you had a nice trip :thumbsup2

We just returned from our first stay in the cabins as well.....2100 loop. First stay, but it won't be our last. We have stayed at numerous resorts onsite, and I used to go to FW as a child in the '70's.

But we will certainly stay in the cabins again (I could tent camp but that is a "NO!" from the wife....;) )....so the cabin it will be. Great experience.

:cool2:

We will be checking in 11/27 for our first stay in a cabin in almost 20 years. Used to do it as a kid often, but have only done the hotels now that i'm older. I hope to give a report also when we get home.....

I WAS very excited about staying at FW cabins, but now I JUST CAN"T wait! We are going 12/21. Gonna rent a golf cart, gonna take a tree, gonna take lights! We have a few strings of the new LED battery operated lights, that should work! :santa:

Thats what we used on the golf cart. Bring extra batteries, they are really expensive at the World.;) Have a great time. We'll be back from 12/27 - 1/5 at BC. Gotta take advantage of our PAP. :woohoo:
