Delayed in booking hotels for our September trip. Wanted to be walking distance to Epcot and Close to Hollywood Studios and we aren't big fans, (please don't beat me up), of Disney's Boardwalk. My options are bigger room then we need and wait list last night at Beach Club, have never stayed here.

Or, do Bay Lake Towers in smaller room all 4 nights. Did once briefly. Assuming monorail to Epcot is easy enough, but how is the bus to Hollywood Studios, or any other option?

Love to hear your opinions. Thank you!

Yes, you can take the monorail from CR to Epcot, as a matter of fact, unless the monorail is closed that is your only option, there are no buses there. Is it easy? Matter of opinion. I don't like it because just about every single time I've been on the monorail it has had to delay on the tracks. As far at getting to HS, you can take the bus or if you have PHs, technically you could monorail to Epcot, walk through the park to the IG and either walk or boat or a combination thereof, to HS. I'm assuming since you mentioned BW,BC and wait list you are DVC. If you want to pay for it, you can try Swan/Dolphin.

My family has a ho-hum impression of Boardwalk, so no need to apologize - everybody has their favorites (WL) and never-agains (CBR) based on personal preference!

Assuming you're not looking for a DVC property, Swan and Dolphin is an interesting and cost-conscious alternative to consider. We stayed there for a conference this past July. I'm not a big fan of the exterior, but the rooms have recently been updated in the past couple of years, and they were tastefully decorated and comfortable. A boat ride from the hotel to Epcot is available, and the bus service was not overly lengthy to other destinations. It's a "near-deluxe" resort for a low price, but as it is not operated by Disney, you don't get the perks of Disney's Magical Express or free-dining promotions (you still get Fastpass and other perks).

As an alternative, you may consider Wilderness Lodge (or Boulder Ridge). My family is never in a hurry at Disney (who needs the stress of rushing on vacation), and we like to stay at WL for the ambiance and multiple travel options. It's a nice way to start an early morning going to Epcot by taking a boat ride to MK, and then transferring over to the monorail. We wake up insanely early out of habit, and our 5 year old son enjoys the multi-modal transportation options getting to the park. Of course, we use the bus coming back late at night, which has always seemed fine at WL to us. Parts of WL are still under construction at the moment, but we were there last year and never heard a peep.

We thought CBR (another non DVC option) would be close to Epcot by bus, given the proximity as-the-crow-flies by aerial photo, but it might as well have been the moon... the buses back and forth took forever and are frequently jammed to the gills at peak times. Never again!

I'm actually DVC, but posted the question above in both regular resort and dvc resort forums. Would like to use DVC points. Trying to decide between monorail hotel. Or, pay extra for beach club and hope last night opens. Want to do food and wine and hollywood studios. But, just Hollywood studios once!

I am also a DVC member and have stayed at BLT but not BCV. You did not mention how many of you there are, but we found the BLT studio to be overly small and cramped even for just three adults. If food and wine is your main reason for the trip then BCV is the obvious choice, but unless this is a commando type of trip I have never found the closeness of the resort to Epcot to be the determining factor. Even though VWL is our home resort we like the laid back atmosphere of OKW and getting to the various parks has never been an issue for us. I have always felt that one should pick where they want to stay and worry about getting to the parks later...if at all.

I would do the BCV option, waitlisting the last night. Love staying in the Epcot area when focusing on the DHS and Epcot parks.

WE are not fans of transport from the CR to Epcot. I just don't like the monorail change at the TTC. If that doesn't bother you, then BLT would be fine. We found the bus to DHS to be fine from the CR.

We are only two this time. Our favorite is Animal Kingdom and we are staying there too. And, really enjoyed Saratoga Springs. But, just stayed at an epcot hotel and just like being able to walk and take a boat and not have to wait on buses or move a car. We will be making short visits to Epcot for food and wine.
