Quick! Regal Sun at Downtown Disney or Coco Key water resort?

I have a little over an hour to get on board with a good deal at Regal Sun. But Coco Key water park resort also looks neat. Not sure which to choose! We are going down for the weekend because DH's dad is in the hospital. Kids are probably now allowed in so I'll be staying at the hotel the whole time with the kids while DH visits with his dad.

Regal Sun....
Pros: across from Downtown Disney so we can walk there (since DH will have the car), looks more "elegant" than Coco Key, better price

Cons: a pretty good looking water area but not as good as Coco Key

We go to Downtown Disney often so it will not be devastating if we can't visit there this time.

Coco Key Water Resort:
Pros: awesome looking water area (that's mostly covered from the sun), great reviews, closer to the hospital by about 10 minutes, recently renovated, Chuck E Cheese is across the street

Cons: less elegant (it's basically a Days Inn that has been newly renovated), more expensive, we'll be stuck at this hotel only since DH will have the car (which may not be all bad if there's enough for the kids to do)

I have no idea which to choose as I've never been to either....and the deal expires in a little over an hour! Any help would be appreciated!

I have never been to either but I would choose Regal Sun. For Downtown Disney and the fridge.

Whats the deal? Is it for everyone?

Never been to Coco key but I'd go with Regal Sun due to the proximity to DTD. Since you'll be without the car and stuck while your husband is away this will give you something to do other than the hotel. Shops, resturants, the water mice and boats. Having the fridge might be good as well.

(Not too keen on low budget motels either so I probably wouldn't be good with a renovated days inn :) )

I've stayed at Regal Sun twice...and it was pretty filthy actually :sad2:
Front desk was rude too, and refused to do anything about the disgusting rooms.
When you walk into the lobby, it feels nice...but the rooms were disastrous.

Also, there is a mandatory $15/night fee at the Regal Sun that they don't mention when you book...everyone else around us checking in was furious about it, and they whipped out binders with very fine print highlighted that it supposedly was mentioned (I don't know, we booked through Priceline at $40/night). It is for use of their "pools, parking, and shuttles".

Do a quick breeze through of the reviews at tripadvisor.com- sort by the lowest rated first, and you will see a LOT of awful, recent reviews

Edit: my advice is to use Priceline for a Downtown Disney area hotel...like I said, we paid around $40. If that price is better than the deal you can get this hour, even if you do get stuck at Regal Sun, its not too much...and you'll have DD.

Am I reading this right?:scared1: LOL Please explain this one to me!!!!!

LOL!!! Water mice are little 1 to 2-seater boats that you can rent on different bodies of water around WDW property. They're pretty fun to zip around in.;)
