Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am about to book a 4 Day. We can get a cat 6 for $230 more than a cat 8. Is the verandah worth it? When we cruise DD will be 3 and DS5 - is that too young to have a verandah? Also have people had success with Mouse Ears Vacations. They seem to be coming in much lower than everybody else. Thanks ahead of time!

For $230, I would go for it. We went on a cruise when my oldest DD was only 2 and we had a verandah. We thought that if she needed to take a nap in the middle of the day, we could hang out on the verandah.

We had a verandah on the Magic this past January. I didn't want it, but hubby insisted upon it. (for once he was right - ha ha) LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't imagine NOT having one now. Especially with the ages of your kids - You'll appreciate it when they are napping and you can head to the verandah! Order up the "All Hands on Deck" cheese platter from room service and a glass of wine and enjoy!!!

Absolutely!! I have been on 4 Disney cruises and have never had the verandah!! Next time... hopefully later this year... I am definately going to get it this time!! It looks like it will be about 1k more between a cat. 11 or 12 to cat 6.. but I am going to do it and see ;) I always had the attitude I would rather go on more cruises than more expensive staterooms... but for $230... GO FOR IT :)

Yes -- I would definitely do the verandah. It is wonderful to be able to step outside your room and get fresh air, gaze at the stars (hopefully) or relax in the chairs. Your kids won't be able to get the door open when it is locked, it's too high up and too hard to get open, so you don't have to worry about that, so you have control over the verandah. I bet they will love going out there and sitting with you.

Have a great trip!

for that price..the verandah is so worth it..definately. we won't cruise without one..lol.

I only know of one problem of booking the verandah now.........YOU'LL NEVER SAIL WITHOUT ONE!!! :rotfl2: Got an "upgrade" on our first sailing in 2000 and the next three we already sailed and the next 2 booked.....we "had to have one"!!

On the two DCL we have gone on we have had a Cat 6 verandah room. In September for my birthday DH booked a hidden porthole room. Hisview point was, we never used it the kids always were out there and for the extra money we could add the REAS package. Heck, we are not taking the kids tis time. I am curious to see if I regret this decision. Our 2006 DCL is w/ the verandah. For some reason just having the curtains open makes the room seem larger.
