Hello! I'm a long time DIS boards lurker but this is my first time posting. I was wondering if anyone could give me the phone number to call and confirm a reservation at VWL. I am renting points for a 2 br villa from a friend of a friend and I need to send her our final payment soon. I have the confirmation sheet that she sent me after she made the reservation but she blacked out the phone number. I guess that is what it was at least. I am assuming it was to member services and she blacked it out because they will only speak to members. I tried calling the main number for the VWL but the cast member I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and transferred me to the genereal reservations line. That cast member said she couldn't confirm DVC stuff. I just want to double check and make sure everything is still OK before I send her $1300!

Member services is only for use by DVC members, you will need to contact the member renting you the points and ask them to 3-way call to confirm the reservation for you. The resorts get the reservation info a few weeks before the arrival date so you will only be able to confirm a reservation with the resort a few weeks before you arrive.

Just to clarify, when someone contacts MS, the first thing you need to give them is your Membership Number. As a renter, you don't have a membership number. All reservations are tied to membership numbers.

That's why you need to do a 3-way phone call.
 
Try again. Call the resort front desk (407-824-3200), tell them very specifically you have a DVC reservation and you would like to confirm it.

I have done this via conference call with a rentee as far as 3 months out. They have to look "someplace else" as it is DVC but they can certainly do it. If you don't get anywhere ask for a supervisor. Just keep being specific, you are a non-member confirming a DVC points reservation.
