I've looked and haven't seen this question answered. If I missed it, I'm sorry!

Are dining plans related to how many days you will be at the parks, or how many days you will be at the hotels? For example, if we plan to stay 8 nights at the hotel, but only have 5 days at the parks, will we have the dining plan for 5 days or 8 days?

It's by resort reservation nights. You will have 8 nights' worth of credits to spend over the 9 days that bracket those nights.
