My half brother and I want to share our DVC even though we both have two different last names and currently live at different addresses.

We will be living at the same address in the near future when he moves up to college.

It is possible for us to get the DVC in both our names including the loan?

Remember, it's a timeshare; you legally own property. Even though they abstract it using points and give you amazing flexibility (that I don't think exists elsewhere in the timeshare community), the background is still property.

I don't believe you'd have any problems having co-owners.

That said, note that they don't do any sort of points division that I'm aware of, meaning that you both will need to agree on what to do with points each year. Make sure that you're on the same page and will be through 2060.

Owners can have separate names and addresses. However, understand: (a) both will have complete control over reservations, i.e., one can make reservations, borrow, cancel (including those ressies made by the other), etc without knowledge of other; (b) both are liable for dues, so if other owner has been designated to pay them and does not, even though you gave him money to do so, they will come after you and it is no excuse that the other was supposed to pay; (c) creditors of one of the owners can place a lien on the property and ultimately force a sale particularly if one goes into bankruptcy; (d) if one of the owners gets married, the spouse will have rights to that owner's interest and can potentially force a sale if divorce occurs; (e) one owner can potentially force the other to allow a sale of the entire interest; (f) the real estate interest cannot be divided, to sell requires sale of entire contract.
