Were leaving tomorrow and we are flying Alaska Airlines and I think we are getting sick so my H went to the Dr's tonight and got some antibiotics for himself. Now my question is..... I have some antibiotics left over from June(not liquid) and I want to take it with me. It has my name on the bottle but are there certain restrictions for carrying on medication??? Does it have to be current???? any info helps???? sorry this is last minute but I'm kindda worried about this :confused3 Thank you!!!!!!

Nope. As long as the prescription is in your name or your husbands name (or a family members name that's traveling with you) then you're good to go! :thumbsup2

We've never even been questioned about any medications that we've had going through security at airports. However, on our last trip we put all our liquids, gels, medications, etc, into our checked luggage just to be able to go through security faster. It worked great! :sunny:

Hope you and your DH feel better, and have a wonderful trip!

It's just liquid stuff that's a problem. You should be fine. When I flew in October/November, I carried with me some prescription meds that had no one's name on them. I didn't have a problem and was never questioned. It was the ice packs I carried for my breastmilk that they had a problem with.

Thank you so much. Now I can go to sleep for 3 hours and get up to leave for the airport!!

I just got back from my trip where I too took antibiotics and I wasn't even questioned. I kept them in my carry on bag and nobody said a word or asked to see them or anything. The rules are that as long as your name is on the prescription you can take it and prescription liquid medications are allowed as long as your name is on the bottle. But you won't have any trouble because I didn't and I was more worried about it than you seem to be. Have a great trip!
