Trying to do a cost comparison on DDP vs. OOP.

Can anyone tell me the tax on food at WDW? Am I correct in understanding that tax IS included on DDP, only tip that is not?

Thanks!

The basic Sales Tax rate in Florida is 6.0% and is on most goods and services. The counties have an option, by vote of their residents, to add a surtax of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% to the state rate.

Orange County, which is most of WDW has a surtax of 0.5%, so purchases (including meals) are taxed at 6.5%.

Osceola County, which has the All-Stars Resorts and Wide World of Sports in it, has a 1.0% surtax so purchases at those locations are subject to a 7.0% tax.

Tax is no longer included in the DDP. You will have to pay tax whether you do the DDP or OOP.

Good luck deciding! I am in the middle of trying to make that decision myself! :goodvibes

Tax is still covered in DDP. It is the tip which is no longer included.

Is tax charged on the price of the DDP? For instance, if the plan is $37.99 per person per day, is that the total price or is it $37.99 plus tax?
