Quick question regarding adding free dining to an exsisting reservation

I booked a trip last October for September 19 to 26 this year.

I am Canadian and as you may know our dollar is currently in a nose-dive as against the US dollar. I paid off the balance outstanding on the reservation last year since the exchange rate was/is only going to get worse and I'm trying to minimize extra costs.

My question is this, in the event the free dining promotion is offered this year and I want to add it to my reservation, is it just added to my current reservation? Or does a new reservation need to be created?

In the event a new reservation needs to be created, will the money paid for the previous reservation be refunded to me (therefore converted at a loss back to Canadian) requiring me to pay once again or can the money paid on the previous reservation be transferred directly to the new reservation (and therefore kept in US funds)?

Obviously it will cost me quite a bit more money if the money would be refunded requiring me to repay so I'm trying to figure out if I should even try for free dining if it should be offered or if I should just start saving more US money now for dining out of pocket.

Thanks so much.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if it matters but I booked a Magic Your Way Package and not a Room Only rate.

Since you already have a package, the dining plan can be added IF the resort and room category you have booked are included in the free dining offer and there is availability when you call so it's best to call as soon as the offer becomes available.

If there is no availability at your resort/room category you can modify your package to a different room or resort that is included and available.

As long as you can modify your res and you keep your current reservation number you will not have to cancel/get money refunded.
