Quick Question from 1st time DVCer

I am booked and ready to go for our first DVC trip at SSR. I do have one question: Can I call and pay for my tickets and dinning plan NOW or do I have to wait till I get there. If I could pay in advance it would be great! Thanks!

You could order your tickets online in the form of vouchers if you wanted. Even the DVC AP can be ordered online.

But you have to pay for the dining plan upon arrival.

thanks..that's what I thought. I wanted to book a dinner show, but they told me on the phone I would have to pay in advance and they would pay me back when I paid for the DDP. I was kinda hoping I could pay the plan now and skip the "pay me back" part! LOL!

Odd, we had the dining plan and made ADR's at CRT and did not have to pay in advance, just told them we have the dining plan.

Although if you want to pay for most of your stuff ahead of time, you can always buy Disney gift cards ahead of time and then add them to your bill when you get there.

They hold your credit card number I thought and only charge it if you are a no-show. Which one is it? I booked HDDR Level one or whatever and it was not included in the DDP (Level 2 and 3 were but I wanted to be up front) so it was charged but every other one I only gave a credit card and it wasn't charged. I've never heard of paying you back - ask more questions.

they told me yesterday on the phone that I would have to pay for the Hoop Dee Doo since I have not bought the dinning plan yet. I had my choice of level 2 or 3, the DDP levels, but that my card would be charged now, not just used incase I didn't show up. Only AFTER I bought the plan would they give me the $$ back.

Wow - never heard that before - did you explain you were a DVC member and that it can't be bought yet? Was it MS or WDWDine? Maybe MS would have more information (maybe not ).

I think that's correct. Even if you have the regular dining plan for CRO reservations, you still have to pay to book that reservation that requires a credit card to hold it.

In order to get HDD, you have to put down a credit card.

What I meant was I've had to give a credit card to hold the reservation for example CG, Brown Derby, Jiko but haven't been charged for it because I always showed up to eat. That part I understand. Is it don't see why that would be any different other than its a show. I have never booked CRT do they charge you for that up front too? I guess ya learn something new every day.

I was surprised too! I don't see the point of paying up front..I get the credit card "hold", but to charge it right away??? I don't know about CRT
