We're having a semi-destination wedding* at a small chapel in the North East and decided to have a pizza party/reception for our grad-school and church friends back here once we get back so they don't feel like they have to fly half-way cross country just to see us. Which leads to a problem - my apartment mate wants to throw me a shower but who gets invited? Since she's the only Texan getting an invite to the actual wedding, limiting it to just her would be a bit odd. Yet we're pretty much inviting the whole church and campus to the pizza reception - so do all those people get invited to the shower? On the one hand I don't want people to feel left out while on the other hand I don't want someone to feel hit up for gifts just because I sit next to them in class. So what's the proper thing to do here?
*It's halfway between his parents and mine and right near where my best friend lives so for those most important to us, it's local ... for everyone here in TX it's a destination
