Quick question about free dining for people with experience....

Sorry if this has been covered- I have looked through numerous threads and haven't seen this addressed exactly....

We are planning on going Sept 2010 for my DS's 3rd birthday. I was planning on booking early as I am a bit obsessive when it comes to planning and prepping for things, but if I do would I be able to switch to free dining if/when it becomes available in 2010 or should I wait to book?

You could book and switch later but I would suggest just waiting.

We booked the bounceback in 2007 for 2008.

Our best friends decided to go with us as the hubby had never been to Disney World and they wanted to celebrate my DH's and my 25th anniversary with us. They booked their trip with the TA I use when we got back from our trip in 2007. As soon as free dining was announced, our TA got them the free dining. So it can be done once you've already made a reservation assuming there is availability at the resort when you call.

You can get the free dining but you may have to give up your resort of choice like we did in 2006. We had POP booked before the free DDP and when we called to add the free DDP they switched us to ASMu saying POP was booked for free dining, no big deal cause free dining is great. We could have called back after getting the free dining added to see if POP open up rooms but we didn't.
Last 3 years on the free DDP was great.
