Quick Question about Annual Pass

I have a very simple (I hope ) about purchasing annual passes with the DVC discount. Do you have to order then a head of time or can you purchase them at guest services at Downtown Disney?

I know you can redeem the voucher at Downtown Disney but can you just purchase the pass there using your DVC discount and not order the voucher on-line?

yes, you can purchase AP at DTD at GS.

We have purchased ours at DTD too. Very convenient and we had no wait at all when we were there.

The other option that I find very easy, is to do Will Call. You will have less of a wait since they will not need to take your information down for you. It's already in the computer. I perfer doing that so I don't have to wait as long once I get to the window

That is an EXCELLENT suggestion, Elaine, because even if you get the voucher, you still have to turn it in for the "real thing" once you get there. Simply doing "will call" elminates one step.

But don't use the "will call" option if you plan to order the DDE card prior to arrival. You need the actual pass or the voucher to get the DDE. Yo need to give the Dining CM the numbers on the back to get the DDE. The numbers on the will call email confirmation don't work.

I got my AP on my trip in April just had to go to guest services at any of the parks (we happent ogo to MGM first) Had to present voucher AND DVC Card/drivers license for proof. Took 5 minutes!!!

Thanks so much for all the info. It seems that I can get the AP at WDW; however, do I need to purchase a voucher a head of time? I was hoping that I wouldn't have to purchase anything before leaving.

You don't have to purchase anything before arriving. Some people do get the voucher ahead of time if they are joining DDE for the first time. But if you are just buying APS, you can certainly wait until you arrive.

This thread raised a question in my mind: I bought APs for my DS and myself...we'll turn the vouchers (green plastic cards the size of credit cards) into actual passes when we get there in November...

My question: I have both AP vouchers...my DS (a college student) will arrive from his college town hours after I do...will I be able to get his AP as well as my own? (I won't have his drivers license w/me, and he never got his own m'ship card (I'm the one who owns the DVC m'ship)...

If he has to get his own, will he have to have me w/him?

Now, this is a guess but if you mean you will already be inside a park and he will join you there, I would think you could purchase it at that park and leave his AP for will call. GS could verify his id info when he picks it up.

But as I said, that's a guess. GoldenOldie who posts on the Theme Park Boards often and really knows all about admission media would know for sure. Perhaps you could PM her?

if you do have the voucher for the "will call", can you pick it up at the international gateway area? or anywhere close to BCV? or do you have to go to the front of one of the parks? thanks!

I have a question about buying the DVC AP voucher online with Disney Rewards Dollars. Can you pay the tax & shipping with Reward Dollars, too, or just the base price of the DVC discount AP? My current Rewards card is expiring and I don't want to load it with any more Rewards dollars than what I can use to purchase my AP. Thanks!
