I know a 17 year old is not a child, do they charge me child price on dining plan? Can he eat off adult meal or is it a child meal, I would guess I correct me if I am wrong... thanks

OK, reading more, I think it says Adult after child Table Service

Anyone over the age of 9 is a 'Disney adult' in regards to the dining plan both in price and menu.

He's an adult when it comes to dining plans and park tickets.
Unfortunately our little ones become adults the minute they turn 10 at Disney.

I think you're referring to what it lists when you look up your reservation in MDE. If so - this is just one of those infamous Disney glitches! If he is registered on the reservation as 17 then it will be the Adult Dining Plan - regardless of what it says in MDE.

MDE lists him as a child for room purposes...he doesn't cost extra to be in your room as he's under 18.

Disney is a bit weird about that 10-17 group. I believe, technically, that age range is not a "Disney adult" nor a "Disney child", but rather is a "Disney junior". The practical upshot is that a "junior" is treated as a child for room occupancy, but is treated as an adult for tickets and dining (both dining plan and for admission meal entrance fees).
