Since I talk to you guys most, I figured I should ask here.

Following up on my recent thread about my photography stuff for our 3-day trip in October, I need some opinions.

We will only have one park day, plus MNSSHP.

So taking that into consideration, would you make your one park day Magic Kingdom or Epcot?

MK is my favorite park and has Spectro and Wishes, but Epcot is closer to our dinner reservation at bluezoo, open almost as late as the MK, still has fireworks to watch for my birthday and has F&W Fest which we've never been to.

Plan A
Day 1 - MK
Day 2 - MNSSHP
Day 3 - Downtown Disney

Plan B
Day 1 - Epcot
Day 2 - MNSSHP
Day 3 - Downtown Disney

The Halloween Party is already going to be at Magic Kingdom. Even though it technically starts at 7pm, you can actually get into the park anytime after 4pm using your Halloween Party ticket.

At least, that's how it was in previous years. :)

I do plan to enter at 4:00pm (from what I can tell, you still can) but that's only 8 hours in the MK---not sure if that's enough!! :hyper: :hyper:

My vote would be for EPCOT since you will be in MK for the MNSSHP. You can experience a little bit of the Food and Wine Festival which wont be there in December.

Well, even though the party ends at midnight, it doesn't mean you have to actually leave at midnight!

There's at least an extra hour or so of prime night photography after the end of the party, when cast members very slowly start kicking you out and crowds start thinning out (so they don't get in your pictures). Tom (WDWFigment) can certainly attest to this! :) He's the KING of after-hours night photography at the parks!

I would opt for the Magic Kingdom myself! DH and I went last year and saw the MNSSHP and the F&W festival. Personally, we didn't see a lot with the F&W that we really cared to see. It was so crowded there and we don't drink, so I would personally spend the extra time at MK and enjoy. :thumbsup2

EPCOT. Get some diversity in your night shots. Even if you don't do F&WF.

Why do you have to go to Downtown Disney on the last day? Would DHS be an option? If you don't have the tickets to go to a park, maybe consider a (photo) tour of the EPCOT and MK resorts. The monorail makes that convenient if you don't have your own transportation. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think DtD is worth spending much time at without the Adventurers Club. This is coming from the odd male who actually enjoys shopping, too.

I voted for plan b for the diversity. :)

Plan C cracked me up though!

Nope, no DHS this trip unfortunately. I get free admission to one park for my birthday and we bought DH a one day ticket and then we have MNSSHP. So it's Epcot, or MK because those are my two faves.

Oddly enough, no shopping in DTD! We don't have park admission for that day and are meeting up with people in DTD for lunch on the last day, and to pick up Cirque du Soleil tickets from will-call for our trip in December. Not too worried about diversity in my photos for this trip because like I said, we'll be back for 7 days only two months after we get back in October to hit all of the parks a few times.

As an adult, EPCOT is now my favorite. It would have been MK when I was a kid. Plus, I think there is more to photograph there. Will the Food and Wine Festival be going one while you are there?

I guess I should have read further. The F&W Festival is a must if you have never been to it!

For us a lot would depend on what day that is, we like to avoid crowds and generally go to the park that is likely to have the least people.

Like PoohGirl we were not that impressed with Epcot's F&W. We do drink but the portions were so small it was hardly worth it. On weekends the crowds at F&W are really bad! If this is a weekend day I would go for MK unless it is expected to be very busy there too.

I love-love-love MK more than any of the other parks - but for a short trip, it is nice to get some Epcot time in, too - in a big part because of Illuminations, which I much prefer over Wishes.

Besides, if you're carrying that Holga, the World Showcase would seem like a natural place to try it out.

EPCOT - my favorite WDW park. A trip wouldn't be complete without at least some time at EPCOT

My thought would be if I had ressies @ bluezoo...
I'd liesurely walk over to EPCOT and enjoy the rest of the evening...
and of course, with a glass of champagne, Nuvo or Grand Marnier slushy from France !! :thumbsup2
