Is there a map that shows what rooms/buildings are standard, preferred, water views are at Pofq? Looking at the map, I think I would prefer to be in building 5 which looks closest to the pool but not sure if I can afford anything other than standard view.
Also for those that have been there, how was the bus service? According to the map there is only one bus stop--is that correct? So is french quarter first or last on picking up and dropping off? I am assuming the same busses service both riverside and french quarter...
Thanks

WE stayed in bldg. 5. WE had a great time at this resort. We love it. The bus service was very very good, as opposed to the bus service at POR which was ridiculous. We had a standard room that was very close to the river. Still considered standard tho. I would say look at a map and any bldg is gonna be decent unless it has a side that faces a parking lot. All the rooms are good, some are great if you wanna pay for the river view, but if I remember correctly, bldg. 5 is by the river and not near a parking lot. Regardless, the resort is very easy to get around and nothing is a far walk. Dont pay any extra money, just ask for a bldg that doest sit next the parking lot. The rest are all good.

We always request building 5 and always get a stantard room. It's close to the pool, the bus and the food court. Perfect location in my opinion. We had no problems with the bus stop. They always pick up POFQ first and then go to POR. In fact, often, they didn't even stop there! Maybe it depends on which bus - I was't paying close enough attention to notice. Have fun!

So you were able to get a standard view in building 5? Looking at the map that does look like the ideal building especially with it's proximity to the pool which is important to us. So I guess if we don't pay for waterview then we'll probably have one facing the courtyard if we do in fact get our request granted of building 5. So no elevators? I think we would prefer a first floor room then. I guess I need to decide what requests are most important to us because I know they can't grant them all...

Thanks, actually we are booked at POP but looking at upgrading to a mod so that is why I have been researching them today to see which one suits us most....

IMO, POFQ is such a compact resort that you can't really go wrong in any of the buildings. I never make room requests and have never been disappointed.

We've never made a request at POFQ, and here's my take....

Our first year, we paid for Riverview. I honestly wouldn't do that again, unless I had to in order to get a promotion such as free dining. We were on the far end of Building 6. It's by no means a bad location (there is really no such thing at FQ), but it was the farthest we ever were from the food court and bus stop. The next year we didn't request riverview, and we were in either building 4 or 5 (I can't even remember for sure!) in the interior that would now be considered a "garden view" room. We thought it was a pretty nice location. The next year we were on the parking lot side of building 4. Oddly enough, this was our favorite location. The landscaping is such that you don't really notice the parking lot. We were super close to the bus stop and food court. If I were to bother to make a request again at FQ, that is probably the location I would ask for.

Honestly.... FQ is so small that any location is going to be fine. We stayed at Riverside this year, and that really brought home for us how easy it is to get around at FQ.

Sorry... I didn't notice this the first time! All of the buildings at POFQ have elevators. It's the AB rooms at Riverside that don't.

Yes there are elevators. We have stayed there several times and have stayed in bldg 3 most of those time. We even have faced the parking lot, but with all the trees etc and the depth of them it is really hard to see the parking lot. As others have said there is no real bad building in the bunch as you can be anywhere with 5 mintues in the resort and a short 5-10 minute walk along the river to riverside. Have fun it is a beautiful place.

We have stayed in building 5 three times and absolutely love this building location and the French Quarter  The courtyard view is beautiful and there is a nice short cut by building 4 to get to the bus stops :dance3: It is also close to the food court and gift shop :yay:

I was on the back side of 5, and used that shortcut to the bus stops every time it was great. I was right near the middle so getting to the boat or food court were about equal. They showed the movies right outside my door, it wasn't loud or anything and it was fun watching the kids run around on that green.

We're here now in building 6 at the far end, which is a bit of a hassle because the elevator is at the other end. I would have requested close to the elevator if I'd really understood how the buildings were set up, though. We're probably about as far as you can get from everything, but it's still not that bad.
