Okay - I need an expert opinion on this one... we are going fri and sat at the end of August. we don't have a magical morning. So which one will be better as far as lowest wait times

Plan a - Fri - hit FL rope drop - do rides for an hour and a half and then do Pixie Hollow about 1/2 an hour after it has opened.

Plan b - Fri - hit FL rope drop - do rides for 45 minutes and be in line when Pixie hollow opens

Plan c- Fri hit FL rope drop for as long as we want and do Pixie HOllow when it opens on Sat

Just want to do the version that will help us get in the most FL rides during the low time of day but don't think my kids can wait an hour for a character greeting - what do you guys think? THANKS

Not sure how busy PH gets in Aug, but I have found that anytime before 11am isn't too bad. You can always peek at the line after FL. One thing to consider is that if you only visit one day perhaps the fairy you are hoping to meet will not be there. You could try both days if you are looking for someone in particular.

I'll let you in on a little secret my family and I discovered about the best time to go to Pixie Hollow. During Celebrate a Street Parade when the parade is at the hub, they block off the entrance to Fantasyland between the castle and the Matterhorn and the little walkway connecting Tomorrowland to Fantasyland by the Astro Orbitor. So during the 15 minutes or so that the parade is going on the line for Pixie Hollow dwindles to basically nothing (not to mention everyone is watching the parade. You can still get to Pixie Hollow sometimes by going through Tomorrowland by Nemo line by the pathway between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland (not the small world side but the other side closest to Pixie Hollow) during the parade, or simply watch the Parade and as soon as it opens up go get in Pixie Hollows line.

My wife last week went around during the parade and got through Pixie Hollow during the parade while the rest of our group waited until the parade ended and walked right in to see Tink and friends. Sometimes during the parades only Tink is there, which may make this a little less attractive an option, but we've done this many times and found Silvermist, Tink and Terrance all there together. Just another option...

Thanks for the responses - That is a GREAT tip about the line during the parade. It is a little hard for me to visualize it but I am going to pull up a map and then re read your instructions. We are actually only really worried about meeting Tink and it sounds like she is always out??? Is this right? Has anyone ever hit the line when Tink was on a break? Thanks

She is pretty much always there. There was one time I went early in the morning and Tink sneaked back into her teakettle. Silvermist was moved into Tink's spot. I wouldn't worry about it though, ever other time she was there.

Last week, we were in line at PH because the CM said Silvermist was there along with Tink. But when we got up there, everyone left and Iridessa was in Tink's spot. :confused3 Apparently, Tink had an "unexpected emergency" and would be back soon. So it is possible to miss Tink, but I think it is kind of rare. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

Ditto to what PPs said...Tink is usually at Pixie Hollow but it is possible to miss her. I think I've been there 4 times and she was there every time except once.

That parade tip is great!

In my (limited) experience, the line stays fairly constant...the area's pleasant so 30 minutes' wait isn't too bad. I heard that it may also be low late at night (I think Pixie Hollow has been open until 8 for the summer?). But I haven't tried that out to confirm.

(We "only" saw two fairies, Fawn and Tink, when we visited a couple weeks ago; I'm not sure Terence is common anymore. Since the person we were going through for only wanted Tink, it worked out great with us.)

I so wanted to go into Pixie Hollow when we were there, but thought that as an adult I might look a little silly going in there. Tink is one of my favorites, and I would love to see inside, so maybe next time I will just go on in and not worry if I feel silly or not.

I think the Pixie Hollow sign is one of the cutest things ever~~

If you can't feel silly and be OK with it in Disneyland, then where can you feel silly? We're all just kids once inside those gates. Go for it!!!

You're at Disneyland - where everyone is a kid at heart. :goodvibes

I've been at Pixie Hollow so often during my last trip (solo or with other adults) that Tink actually recognized me within a couple of days.

Well, t hanks for the encouragement, and I will go for it next time. I also didn't think that DH would be too thrilled to head in there, guess I can leave him outside. :goodvibes

Is it an area where you just go in and there is a meet 'n greet, or is there anything else to see, maybe photograph?

There is interesting things to see in line. Little fairy houses and statues. You can come back at night to take photos inside PH when it is all lighted.

That is exactly when we checked out PH. The parade was going by, the line was fairly short and we did get to see Tink, Fawn and Silvermist. Even the CM said it was a perfect time to visit.
