Quick Nintendo DS Help!!!!

OK, I wrapped it before I looked to see what kind of batteries it needed. Will it be charged and ready to go right out of the box? Or do I have to unwrap until I find it and charge it all night??? Does it take regular batteries, or just special rechargeable ones - and if so, are they included? I sure hope so!!!!

Ok, I don't have one but I looked it up at Amazon.com and this is what it says...
"Battery & Power ManagementThe battery is rechargeable and the unit features a low-energy-consumption design. The DS also has Power Management functions of Sleep mode and Standby mode. In Sleep mode, players can stop and resume game play whenever they like. If the user receives a message from a friend or user nearby, DS activates itself from Standby mode"

The battery can charge via the AC adapter/charger (included) while the child is playing it, so you do NOT have to charge it all night for it to be a useful toy. Mine play theirs all the time while it's charging.

mine is playing and charging as we speak!!

DS got one for his birthday and was able to play it right out of the box... I think for at least 2 hrs before he thought about charging it. You should be good to go and as others have said you can still play it while it's charging.
