hi,
im flying with virgin tomorrow. im thinking of checking in online for my flight. is this an easy process, is it advisable to do? will i have a chance to view/change my seat??(i already preselected it)also, im worried my printer wont print the card clear enough for the airline. what happens in this instance? alllso is there usually a long line to drop baggage off??

lastly, i heard of a surcharge (£20??) that needs to be paid at check in. is this true?

sorry about all the Qns

thanks

Yes, have a go :)

Online check-in is easy and it will explain exactly what you need to do. You can change/select seats with online check-in. Don't worry too much about your boarding passes - print out what you can (if you can) and then swap them for "real" boarding passes at the airport (when you drop your bags).

The "fast bag drop" should definitely be quite a lot shorter than the normal economy queue - well worth doing, for less queueing :)

Don't know about the surcharge - maybe taxes have increased since you booked and paid for your tickets?

Go on, give online check-in a go ;)

We used the online check-in last year and will do again this year. We found it very easy to use and although there was a queue for bag drop it was considerably shorter than those for the standard check-in desks.

Not sure about the surcharge, we didn't pay one last year and I haven't seen anything on Virgins website about it.

Hope it all works ok for you and have a good holiday!

To be honest anyone that can check in online and doesn't is crazy. It takes a few minutes sat in the comfort of your own home and can save you an hour at the airport.
If you dont check in online your prebooked seats are not guaranteed so you might get to airport and they have given them away like they did to us at Xmas.
It really easy online, You dont have to print off boarding sheets so if you have a problem just tell them and they print for you.
We did it both out and in bound at Easter, saved us over 1 hour each way, the regular line was so bad.
The only surcharge is for the extra tax that is to pay. If you have booked with Virgin Holidays either a package or flydrive, there is nothing to pay. If you booked flight only before a certain date in Dec then you have it to pay. Cant remember the date but will be on Virgin's website. If you booked after the date the £20 was included in your price.
