Are there ice machines at each comfort station? Also how much does it cost to get ice and does it only take quarters?

Thanks,

Yep. $2.00 and bags are provided. It only takes quarters, but there is a bill changer in the laundry area to use (if it's working).

Take a bag cooler with you to get the ice. The machine overflows the bag they give you.

Here are two free tips for a newbie:

1. Make sure that you have your bag (or cooler) under the ice chute before you push your quarters in. The ice comes out immediately, and fast. There almost always is a pile of ice on the ground in front of the ice machines left by the poor newbies who learn this lesson the hard way.

2. The amount of ice you receive from each ice machine varies. This past weekend, the ice machine at the 1500 loop was not even dispensing a full bag (I only got about 3/4 of a bag). I have had the best luck with the ice machine at the 1200/1300 loop, which usually dispenses about a bag and a half (use your cooler as Lone-Star suggested).

or better yet use your own cooler. I sent my 9 yr old twin DSs to the ice machine with 8 quarters. They came back saying it didn't work. I sent them to the further comfort station. They came back howling with a few ice cubes in a bag and apologizing for wasting our money (I have them trained well!). They thought the ice came out in a bag and by the time they noticed it was too late. Frankly, I'd seen a man coming back with ice in a bag and thought the same thing. I sent them back again with 8 more quarters and they came back with a bag of ice but said more had fallen on the ground. We'll know for next time!

Don't be hard on the kids.

I have shared this story before.

Believe it or not, there was a time when TCD was a newbie.

I wish I had a photo of me standing there the first time I used the ice machine, with my empty bag in my hand, and my expensive ice splayed out on the concrete!

But, it only happened once.
