Quick kid's meal ?

Now that my DD and DS are 10 and 11, if we pay OOP can they order the kid's meals???

Yes anyone can pay OOP for a kids meal.

Most likely, with the exception of buffets, all you can eat family style restaurants, fixed price restaurants, dinner shows, and the Whispering Canyon skillet. These are charged per person, not per menu item, and age 10 and over will be charged as an adult regardless of how much or how little they eat.

Yes, they can order off the kids menu with the exception of buffets and pre-paid meals ( they are charged like adults - but can eat off the kids buffet if they like )

There are a few reports from other posters that their child over 9 was not allowed to order from a child's menu at some restaurants (the Plaza was one - the server flatly refused to provide a child's menu). Don't know if this is a general rule of that restaurant to not allow "adults" to order from the child's menu, or if it was that particular server. So I wouldn't count on being able to do it in all cases, but in most.

Interesting topic to me. Neither one of my kids (8 & 12) eat very much and I hate when I have to order an adult meal for my 12 year old. It's always wasted or I have to convince them to agree on something and share.

In the past, I have let them order and then swap because my 8 year old sometimes eats more than her brother. This year...no dining plan. We will order whatever we want.

I appreciate the responses. I'm hoping it won't be an issue at the restaurants we go to. DH and my favorite is dinner at Boma's. So that will definitely be out this time. I can't see paying $31 for my DS10 and DD11 for a few nuggets on their plates
